the Noel family and its connection to the Douglass family?

A magazine writer has written requesting any information I have on this – I have nothing – as I recall, someone posted about the connection so I put it up on the board. If you have details, and care to email them to me (christopher.fountain@gmail.com) I’ll pass them on. The writer requested anonymity.

Thanks

  1. Douglass-Noel link

The requesting writer should call Douglass directly in Greenwich or New York about his friend Noel. The Douglass phone number is found by doing a yahoo people search in Greenwich or look him up on the Milbank website.
Many fear Douglass has helped Noel hide assets in Europe. Ask Douglass to his face what he knows about hidden Noel assets in Europe banks and why Noel hired his son Andrew at FGG when he knows nothing about hedge funds.

  2. Upset

People have 7.9 billion reasons to be upset with Mr. Noel and any people he is close to at this point. We have all been duped by this folksy character and his large family. Especially since inside sources claim that Mr. Noel has been trying to sell the FGG company to others for the last several years with the Madoff problem the sticking point in any sale.

When it is revealed that Mr. Noel hires family and friends, the public has doubts. One friend is the Douglass family. With rich and powerful friends, you can hide a lot and get away with a lot.

Almost anyone would thank and appreciate any journalist snooping around to any Noel friends and employees like Andrew B. Douglass who joined Mr. Noel in 2005 and his father Robert who headed up Clearstream in Europe from 1994 to 2004.

Mr. Madoff stayed above suspicion due to his prominent role in society. Now the public has to follow any lead, go down any trail, and question authority to get to the truth in this scandal. This is something we should have done all along.

Trust no one, especially “respectable” people like Douglass and Noel who have been guests in many Greenwich, New York City, Southampton, Palm Beach, and European homes for years.

Sorry guys, you ruined the party. Unfortunately, there are many others out there just like you.

  3. Keep up the heat

A flashlight will always show the cockroach. People have an interest in this story because you have to befriend someone before you can get close to their wallet. With friends like Mr. Noel, who needs an enemy. Something really fishy about this Round Hill Club bunch.

  4. Newstand

Can’t wait for the next revealing cover story of the Noels and his close friends and associates like Mr. Douglass and his son, Andy. You go Woodward & Bernstein! Making Greenwich look great.

At least the story will sell. Has all the right ingredients. Money, power, attractive people, and Greek tragedy.

  5. Courtroom Drama

Perry Mason may need to get in on this one. Let the process begin. Did Mr. Noel every file that lawsuit against Madoff yet?

  6. Chummy

All these players in the Noel saga are all too chummy. Mr. McCloy stands up for Mr. Noel. But Mr. Douglass works for the old McCloy law firm in NYC (Milbank, Tweed, McCloy). Mr. Douglass has a young son named Andrew who works for Mr. Noel. Mr. Douglass leads a company in Europe that trades Fairfield Sentry. Mr. Douglass lead a company that is accused in past of shady deals for rich people. All these golfers play together. A betting man says something is going on here. Better check their scorecards at the end of the game. Some thoughts of a simple Round Hill Club caddie.

  7. N & D daughters

did both noel and douglass daughters all marry foreign men. connection. yes, they all had bad taste.

  8. JP Morgan Chase dumped Madoff funds months before the crash

Hard to believe that Noel friend Mr. Robert Douglass, former Vice-Chairman of Chase Bank, didn’t see this coming. JP Morgan-Chase dumped Madoff months before the scandal broke. Just coincidence? Or did Noel tip him off. Explain that, Mr. Douglass.

  9. Jane

Brookie (Douglass) de Ocampo was always in WWD and other fashion press with the Noel girls. Brooke and the first 4 Noels are old friends from North Street School. (Yes, the Noel girls did attend North Street for a time). These families have been tight for years.

  10. Walt

Hey folks, take a chill pill. Upset – what do you mean we “ruined the party”? Mustique is jumping!! Bloody’s on the veranda, then off to tennis!!
    Your party animal buddy,
    Walt

  11. Brian Ross

Check out page 3 of Mr. Ross exploration of Madoff using Mr. Douglass Clearstream to hide money. Do not let social prominent cloud your glasses. See the Greenwich people for who they are.

Your blog lets people tell the story without the rich and powerful filtering it. Thanks.

  13. FGG Wikipedia

Did a lawyer write this up to educate the future juries judging Fairfield Greenwich Group?

  14. Madoff & Noel once shared office bldg

Looks like Noel was on 39th floor while Madoff was on 11th floor of 919 Third Ave. Noel later moved to 55 East 52 St. I’ll bet it was around 2004-2005 when the Madoff Ponzi was becoming obvious and Noel wanted to distance himself from Madoff physically. Around the time of move, Noel was starting to try to sell the sham. Almost all of Noel investors were foreigners.

“Greenwich Mean Time” is probably Vanity Fair’s title to the follow-up article on the Noel family. Emphasis on how mean people are now acting toward this family that operates around the world.

  16. Andrew Douglass Calls

See the fourth tag down. Somehow it has been deleted. Andrew Douglass calling on behalf of FGG…Can you open that note?

  17. Vanity Fair somehow links Andrew Douglass making calls for Noel

See top link.but can’t open it for some reason.

No, Archived, “Greenwich Mean Time” is the title of my last book, which tells the story of black guys posing as Siwanoy Indians who come to Greenwich, reclaim Tod’s Point on behalf of their mythical ancestors in order to build a casino. You can find it at Amazon. “Stocks and Bondage”, my next book, will tell the story of the Noels and all their pals here in town.

  19. Noel's 2007 optimist 16 year lease

Madoff was in Lipstick Bldg at 885 Third Ave &East 52. Noel’s FGG moved in 2007 from 919 Third Ave to 52 East 55 Street. A real estate note in 2007 shows an optimist Noel plans for a 16 year lease with AON in Fisher bldg Park Ave Plaza on the 33rd entire floor (31,000 sq feet).

Former employees, please feel free to call the Wall Street Journal or NYT and discuss your past dealings with FGG. Thanks. We would all love to hear more about this FGG operation.

  22. Also, someone should look into the other Douglass brother’s business–Rob Douglass (a few years older than Andrew) has teamed up with yet another Greenwich old money name–Jay Winthrop, and they have an investment management firm called Douglass Winthrop. I’d bet the farm that there was some connection with Fairfield Greenwich.

Also by way of connection, Douglass daughter Brooke and Adriane Noel were BFF’s at GCDS…
