Federal takeover of states looming

Obama eyeing bailout of California, Michigan. Rules and conditions will apply, of course. So we’ve moved from taking over the banks, the automobile companies, the credit industry, independent news and the big daddy of them all, medical care -16% of the GNP all by itself, and growing. Now comes state sovereignty.

But it’s all good – don’t worry, be happy. Who have we elected here?

48 other “me-too’s” watching these developments closely. I can’t think the Senate is going to go along as each state has equal representation and no electorate whose wallet is being padded by this process.

Seems like TX is best run major state, with no talk to-date of imposing state income tax and Dallas as a perennially favored region for tax refugees from NYC and CA

Will be fun to watch NYC/NY/NJ go the way of Detroit

Robert Mugabe for domestic and economic policy.
    Neville Chamberlain for foreign policy.
    Hugo Chavez for propaganda minister.

    God.

    The media told me so.

And soon – ABC will be ensconced in God’s White House! As it should be, I suppose. Much easier for The One to preach directly to us that way.

Move to Texas. And see how quick you come back.

Granted, fiscal health is one very important benchmark for gauging the efficiency and competence of any public sector organization. But others include life expectancy, literacy, infant mortality, crime rates, poverty levels, graduation rates, teen pregnancy rates—any factor the public sector attempts to impact via its resources. By this measure, Texas doesn’t compete so well in the 50 states. On a national level, Norway takes the prize.
