Nothing under his kilt?

I have heard that a certain pissed-off reader of this blog who blames me for the failure to sell his house (I posted on it June 3rd, 2009, he’s had it listed for sale since January, 2005, but I guess buyers knew I was going to say mean things about it in four years) has filed for Chapter 13 bankruptcy. I’m checking the public records and will bring you details when I can but in the meantime I’d like to express my deep regret that one single posting could have such devastating effect. Who Knew?

Chris I’m in Palm Beach for the summer. It has rained every day around sunset since I got here.

I am starting to think you are in some way involved.

If you would say only really nice things about the spec houses in Greenwich for the next couple of days I am sure the weather would clear up down here.

I am concerned that if you continue as you have, we could have a tropical storm or even worse a hurricane.

PS: I have also noticed that your blog has killed the entire Florida real estate market. Nobody can sell a house for what they could of 2 or 3 years ago, nobody.

PSS: Your blog has also effected the Florida boating market. If you think selling a spec house that is 35% to 60% over priced is hard, try selling a boat down here.

    When is enough, enough?

Looks like we will have the pleasure of 1038 Lake Ave on the market for four more years. Chapter 13 should allow the filer to avoid foreclosure and work out a debt repayment plan over 3-5 years. Given town assessed value of $5.2mm, a few more price cuts may be in order especially given the work needed on the interior walls to avoid constant headaches and dizzy spells.

It runs in the family, I was told I was responsible for the hippy revolution….

Could this be the first curse of the Vanity Fair expose on Greenwich Outrageous Fortunes from July 2006 in which they profiled hedge fund McMansions?
