Soak the Rich! Oh, we’re already doing that

Top 1% of taxpayers now paying more than bottom 95%. That’s 1.4 million taxpayers paying more than 134 million and of course, there are millions more who aren’t taxpayers at all. The problem with this, aside from the fact that we’re going to run out of top taxpayers to fund all our bright ideas, is that the people who vote for all those goodies should have some stake in paying for them. But demagogues ignore this and we hear instead, endlessly, both in Washington, New York and Connecticut, that the rich must pay “their fair share”. They’re past that already, but the tyranny of the majority won’t discover that until the bill for health care for all, free cars and no energy come to rest on their own front stoop. May that happen soon.

You just found this site today? I’m kinda insulted here because I swear I posted links to it in the past…sometime in Oct/Nov during the election.

Anywho, its about time to write an open letter to our top tax payers.

Dear 1%, I hope the rebound in the stock market and general improvement in the financial markets is finding you well. As as you maybe aware, 99% of the populance is dependent on your good fortune in order to fund our good government. If you are unable to make the big money this year (and we all know you slacked off in 2008) I don’t know what we can do but to i) decelerate the growth in government programs and ii) expand borrowing. Of course, neither is a very attractive option. As we have witness, we as a society can’t really fathom option i and furthmore, borrowing has its limits, see CA and its self printed funny money. Frankly, if you don’t make the big money soon, I’m afraid society may spiral out of control. Most liberals fear the gross success of the top 1% as problematic for a stable society. Its going to be quite a shock to those same people that the reduced incomes of the top 1% proves to be more destabilizing (because of our hyper progressive tax code which coddles the bottom 50% will be starved of tax revenues). So 1%, I encourage you to be a pig this year. You know, really screw Tiny Tim and keep it for yourself. After all, Tiny Tim hardly pays any meaningful taxes, meanwhile what you take from Tiny gets nailed at 35%+…and soon to be higher.

Chris, back in early July/late June, a reader had a wonderful comment detailing the tax disparity and our “welfare” state and voting etc… I meant to print it out or get the link to what he/she was quoting and can’t find it looking back at your previous posts. Can you or any other reader pinpoint it. Thanks.

Aren’t the leftists trying to cap the pay of the top 1%? If so, whose going to pay for their all of their programs?

They are looking to cap the pay of evil bankers and perhaps doctors. Trial lawyers won’t be affected, thats assured.

It’s comical how the wide assortment of squawkers don’t realize their “funding” is actually their vig on the very same high earners whose earnings they so self-righteously want to reduce. But it’s only comical until they and their Congressmen wake up, smell the cyanide, and become confiscatory.

Oops, gotta go and hide some assets somewhere. See ya.
