Markie Madoff to sell his Nantucket property?

Why the hell does he still have a Nantucket property? He paid $6.5 million for it in stolen funds in 2008 and is still enjoying it. Madoff Trustee Irving Picard has sued both Madoff boys and presumably this house has liens on it as do the Madoff homes on Cherry Valley and TomacĀ Road, but I think he should be evicted and join his mother Ruth in that walk-up apartment in Harlem. (Hat tip, Horsejock. Cityfile’s got a great “deer-in-the-headlights” shot of Mark, probably taken right after his father confirmed the obvious). Did you know, by the way, that Mark “earned” $67 million during the past eight years plus another $17 million in loans to buy this and other real estate, never repaid, while running a trading business that was unprofitable? Of course, profitability has never been a requirement for outsized salaries on Wall Street, so perhaps the boy can be forgiven for not growing suspicious of the source of his funds. But he shouldn’t be allowed to keep his houses.
