Old School,

I am the picture of sincerity here.

Ah yes, the old Electrolux building... way back when mother's little helpers weren't little blue pills, but their darling daughters learning how to polish the family silver, iron an oxford-cloth button-down and prepare a Thanksgiving feast for 20-plus.

I learned from the best--my mother (grace under pressure) and the Electrolux she swore by.

I think that I spoke of our condo block that had a fire on the eighth floor (of 12) after a person ran out of his unit having changed his mind about sitting in on a bonfire that he had created. The door jammed open so the rest of that floor was completely inhabitable after the fire spread.

Our brand new life safety improvements meant that the whole rest of the block was flooded by the sprinkler system and it was uninhabitable for months after.
The condo block of 100+ units had many tenants who were made homeless leaving the landlords with no income to pay their mortgage.

The 'city' clearly got involved and found that the improvements made by the owners prior to the fire were without permits and against code.
Condo fees also don't get paid during these crises.

It was a right pain. The insurance company may not pay up in full. We've had that as well, in our time.

Hey, XYount at 10:04, thanks for bringing up Electrolux. Don't know if you were sarcastic or sincere, but, regardless, it brings a fond reminiscence for a quality product.
