This failed Antares project is back under new management, at considerably lower (asking) prices. When the Antares boys were riding high they reported 4 Cherry Blossom as sold at $10,750,000 in August, 2007, a price some of us suspected may have included a few extras under the table to the buyer, like cash back. Whatever the case, the companion house, number 16, which also had started at $12 million, sold for $6.6 million that November. And with that, Antares curled into a little ball and died.
New owners came in, picked up the land for a song and announced their intention to develop the remaining lots. This is their first effort, which, when unbuilt, was offered for $7.995 and yanked off the market unsoldĀ this past October. Now it’s back, at $6.995. “Cherry Blossom” is actually the northern end of Taconic, near the Bedfor border. I haven’t been up there to see, so I don’t know how far along it is or if they’ve even broken ground yet. If you have a full tank of gas andĀ provisions for a three-day trip, you may want to make that journey yourself.

My daily trek takes me East Middle Patent to Taconic but tomorrow I’ll take Taconic from Banksville and report, iPhone in hand. There are some gorgeous farms this far out yonder, Lionshare and White Birch, but I don’t see the attraction for “just a house”. People live out here for the land and the view. Cherry Blossom Lane has neither. Tough sell, IMO.
