In the case of the President of the National Organization of Women, it’s when she sees the Tim Tebow ad and sees the playful tackling of his mother as an act of violence against women.
NOW president Terry O’Neill said it glorified violence against women. “I am blown away at the celebration of the violence against women in it,” she said. “That’s what comes across to me even more strongly than the anti-abortion message. I myself am a survivor of domestic violence, and I don’t find it charming. I think CBS should be ashamed of itself.”

did terry feel that way when betty white was sacked in the snickers commercial?
My guess is that without the supposed anti-abortion angle, our Golden Girl’s ooomphing didn’t rise to the level of NOW’s consciousness.
Well… nobody has ever accused anyone at NOW of having a sense of humor have they? And I think that tradition will be maintained for a quite a while longer.
And nothing about poor Abe Vagoda. Isn’t that sexist?
…but killing a late term female baby in the womb is not an act of violence against women? Hmmm.
By extension of Terry O’Neill’s absurd logic, isnt abortion a form of violence against women too?
I’m a fee choice person myself, but i think abortion should be discouraged and prohibited for late term.
Well I was much more worried by the little boy who slapped his mom’s boyfriend in the face for grabbing one of his Doritos. I don’t think face-slapping is something our kids should emulate, in dealing with their friends or with adults. Seriously, it didn’t work for me.
I thought the Tebow commercial was appealing and cute, and I am a pro-choice gal.
Q. How many feminists does it take to change a light bulb?
A. THAT’S NOT FUNNY!
Why is it called PMS? Because it just is!!!!
I liked God Boy’s ad. And his mom is very appealing — not at all what I expected when I first saw her pulled, plastic disaster of a face. Jesus.
As someone who is also facially challenged, i can sympathize. She did seem like a nice, warm, human being, as I like to consider myself.
“The celebration of violence against women”???
And this woman is the President of NOW?
Almost makes me want to sign up for a sex change. At the very least, I feel vindicated that I have always acknowledged NOW to be some sort of sham organization, rather than one that represents REAL women….
fish…how can you not like fish…
maybe we can let this one slide for old times sake tommy?
i can’t do it.
from the godfather…
all good stuff
C’mon, CF, we’re all facially challenged to one degree or another. (I’d like nothing more than a couple of nips and tucks to these Irish laugh lines I’ve been sporting since I was a lass.) But that doesn’t mean we turn ourselves into Meg Ryan. Mom Tebow’s work is very weird!
Well yes, XYount, she does look rather … stretched.
