Greenwich Time reports on changes school superintendent Sydney Freund has made in his first year. I’ve only heard the man once, but he struck me as a great boon to Greenwich, and I do believe he’ll bring our schools back to where they should be, and once were.

He met with the parents at the Old Greenwich school last week about class size for the upcoming school year. His demeanor was calm, his presentation professional and he answered every parent question as directly as possible (no dodging). I was definitely impressed
He has spoken to realtors three times since his arrival, most recently in conjunction with tours of the recently renovated Hamilton Avenue and Glenville Schools. He is straightforward and logical, and recognizes his role as Superintendant of Schools, unlike his predecessor who treated the job as a venue for the advancement of personal educational theories.
