Ferraris are Fiats; Porsches are VWs: dubious safety and lack of engineering innovation and execution: poseur cars of NYC and LA Luddites
Risk-adjusted perf is maximized in new AMGs, CL65 or SLS, which are popular daily commuter cars among SiliconValley engineers who can afford any car (or G550/7X) on planet…and who can judge risk-adjusted engineering/perf better than most non-quants

AMGs suffer from several drawbacks : lack of traction from a standing start ( partly due to being offered only in rear wheel drive), excessive weight and, perhaps not a factor for the nouveau-riche people you so admire, abysmal residual values. If you want an AMG, buy one slightly used. Btw, you always refer to the G550, but seem not to have heard of the Global Express, which is the preferred plane of the real hedge-fund elite, but you wouldn’t know that.
