It’s only 9:30, so there’s still time, but so far, I’m not seeing much of a snow storm – maybe 4″? Where are our 50 mph winds? Our 20″ of snow? I want a power failure, damnit! Well, sort of.
UPDATE: nothing but flurries in D.C. Now there’s a place that should be shut down.

Chris – as of 10pm we have nearly 8″ up here just north of the Merritt.
We have the wicked winds, gusts well over 50mph! As for the amount of snow, I’d guess 7″, with drifts as high as a foot in places where the wind has swirled.
Our poor dog has to pee but she sits and shakes her entire body when I ask her if she wants to go out. I hate to push her out the door but……..so for her, this is a blizzard.
Maybe not in Riverside. But in back country Greenwich and Wilton were I was plowing the roads were gone. Next to zero visibility, high winds, driving from mailbox to mailbox. I had to actually stop my route for the first time ever. Definitely the worst conditions I have encountered around here.
You should visit us up here, we have at least 8 inches or so in back country and very strong winds…
CF, you waterfront types never get any meaningful snow. Gee-whiz I thought you knew that by now. I bet a few miles inland they are collecting plenty.
Chris, my back country home has an easy 12″ by 11pm. Some places has more 36″ but from drift. My BBQ is about to be buried. I’ll send you a picture.
Weather tracking I use is showing pretty high winds in Long Island Sound.

There’s at least 10-12 inches on the ground here in beautiful Rowayton…
and its blowing like hell.
