Head of the DNC drives a rice burner.
The new chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee was criticizing Republicans who opposed President Obama’s bailout of the American automakers union, oh, no, make that American automakers.
“If it were up to the candidates for president on the Republican side,” said Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz of Florida, “we would be driving foreign cars. They would have let the auto industry in America go down the tubes.”
So Michael O’Brien of The Hill newspaper went and checked what kind of automobile loyal-American-car-supporter Debbie Wasserman Schultz owns.
Yup, you guessed it — Japanese.
Drive as she says, not as she does.

UPDATE: This buffoon hadn’t caught my attention before but she apparently has quite a track record. I Googled “Debbie Wasserman-Schwartz idiot” and came up with tons of material. I like this one, from a year ago, when she promised that the trillion dollars just spent by the Messiah would generate more jobs in 2010 than Bush did in his entire eight year term.

Off topic, this is a great statistic from Businessweek that shows a different angle on overpaid public employees–relative to the value they provide:
Since 2007 the USPS has been unable to cover its annual budget, 80 percent of which goes to salaries and benefits. In contrast, 43 percent of FedEx’s (FDX) budget and 61 percent of United Parcel Service’s (UPS) pay go to employee-related expenses. Perhaps it’s not surprising that the postal service’s two primary rivals are more nimble. According to SJ Consulting Group, the USPS has more than a 15 percent share of the American express and ground-shipping market. FedEx has 32 percent, UPS 53 percent.
Infiniti, actually. But I hate those intentionally strangely-spelled words anyway.

Wasserman-Schwartz must consider only UAW made cars from Detroit as American made cars. We have a thriving auto industry in this country. It’s just not the old Detroit Big 3 and UAW model. It’s non-union. It’s in Southern states. Who care’s where the management is domiciled? We can buy Toyota and Honda’s stock on the NYSE and we can buy shares in all the big global players thru most any broker. And Ford’s management, which is competent and forward thinking, is making a run of it in Detroit with the UAW burden.
We do, reader, but I wonder for how long? Look at Obama’s latest effort to shut down Boeing’s new factory in a right to work state and wonder, perhaps, if Japanese and European car makers are next.
Wasserman-Schwartz – If she weren’t so unfortunate looking, she’d only be known for being stupid.
Reminds of a “Yentl” review by Roger Simon in which he stated that Babs Streisand did a better job in the film impersonating a man than she had her whole life impersonating a woman.
Wasserman-Schwartz looks life Harpo Marx w/o the intentional comedy.
It’s SCHULTZ, for goodness sake. Insult her all you want, but get the name right at least.
4 billion Chinese (and I) couldn’t care less.
Actually, they call her Positive Wasserman.
