    Well, his lead-off point — that it is good that elected representatives rather than judges made the change — isn’t a bad point, except when you realize that the change was still a thwarting of the will of the people, a majority of whom, even in New York, probably would’ve voted against the change.

    Actually, Riverslide, the ‘will of the people’ seems to be very much in favor:

    “New York State voters support 54 – 40 percent a law allowing same-sex couples to marry, with voters under 35 supporting the measure 70 – 26 percent, according to a Quinnipiac University poll released today [June 28, 2011]….”
