Is this part of Irene? I don’t know, but it’s coming down hard.

torrents of rain in the city about a half-hour ago; didn’t last long; unrelated to Irene.

Humid tropical. Does not bode well.

You can never be too cautious.

Good luck riding this thing out on the creek

town fire rescue truck just drove down edgewater urging all to evacuate. does anyone have any idea about the size of the storm surge? we can take, say, 4 feet, but 10 feet on top of sunday’s high tide will be a problem.

  5. We have 12 feet of room, and that’s just our basements. Might lose a furnace, but I’m not concerned about the house. Still, if Ma has to go without electicitry more than 3 days. I’m planning on taking up Fly’s kind offer.

That reunion of yours might be in trouble; CT governor has asked everyone to be off roads by sundown; if you and others need to use I-95 to get to, ugh, Stamford, there could be a problem. I’d check your email before you head out to celebrate.

‘Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy is urging travelers to be off all state roads by sundown Saturday while officials consider a traffic ban on state highways as Hurricane Irene barrels toward New England.

President Barack Obama declared an emergency for Connecticut earlier Saturday and ordered federal aid to help state and local response efforts.’

    Dude -
So this is a bust, right? Where is the storm? I was expecting Irene to be blowing away right now. You do know why they name hurricanes after women, right?
Because when they come they are wet and wild, and when they go, they take the house and the car. It is true Dude.
You aLl set for tonight? Platform shoes, silk shirt and peace sign medallion?
Don’t forget the weed and rubbers!! It may rain!
    Have fun!!
    Your Pal,
    Walt
