Excuse the (now edited) language, but this woman is actually running for President? I don’t really care whether a candidate thinks cavemen rode dinosaurs – seems silly to me, but what does it really matter? When Bachmann spreads her fear and ignorance about vaccines, that really ticks me off.

She is — but not about this. Perry is the idiot on this one. A massive marketing campaign is pushing this product — not a public health issue campaign. And far too many problems with this vaccine.
I like to look at the bright side of Bachmann’s recent tizzy. With her claims about what Perry did to “little girls” and that a vaccine at age 12 can cause autism, she is leaving behind zero doubt that she is indeed a “fucking idiot.”
The sooner she is put out to pasture, the better it is for all of us yearning for a president that will support free markets, personal & fiscal responsibility – and a president who will lead. Bachmann now is about as likely to get the Republican nomination as I am. Well; correct – I might be slightly more likely
Dude –
Of course Cavemen rode dinosaurs. Didn’t you ever see “The Flintstones” cartoons when you were a kid? What do you think that was based on?
And what about “One Million Years B.C.”? You have seen that one, right? Raquel Welch in her prime, Dude!! What a set of fun bags on that cave girl!! I am sure she got dragged by the hair and taken for a ride or two.
Anyhows, of course they road dinosaurs. Green cars were not invented yet, you dummy.
Your Pal,
Walt
This is a more complex issue than either camp admits (pro vaccine: “lets have the government do it because it helps”; anti vaccine: “the vaccine might be harmful”). Vaccines challenge constitional originalists partly because only rudimentary vaccines existed in 1789 (Jonathan Edwards, at the time President of Princeton University, died after accepting the live smallpox vaccination the Mather family had urged on him. Interestingly, the Mathers are in many ways the intellectual parents of Ms Bachmann’s worldview, but they were more pro-science than Ms Bachmann). Where does the state’s interest in preventing communicable diseases outweigh individual freedom? Does it matter that this disease can only be spread via sexual contact and not, for instance, by activities that are a normal part of state-run schools (breathing, etc)?
The fact that Bachmann has gotten as far as she has (throw Palin in this category as well) speaks volumes to the problems festering within the Republican Party.
I don’t know what it is about Republican primary presidential politics that brings out only the wack-a-doodle woman Republican challengers. There are serious, well-qualified woman in the Party, but Bachmann/Palin are NOT among them.
Good post, HG. Thank you.
Chris, does the possibility that she might actually have more insight and knowledge on the subject than you exist?
Just asking.
You gotta see the New Yorker article about Bachman a few weeks ago..I know all of these articles are a bit biased…but this was dead truth scary!!…The best quote was when she ended the interveiw with “Shoot! Aim..Score!!”……can you imagine a person like this as comander in chief?
Well no, and I suspect you know my politics.
No.
I’m with Peg.
There absolutely are legitimate issues involved with vaccines, the role of the government, mandatory or not, etc., etc. Nevertheless, all that has NOTHING TO DO with Bachmann being a blithering idiot. Criticism of Perry on this topic is not irrational. But the screeching about “little girls” and “forced injections” and autism resulting from this is idiotic.
And – if this topic vis a vis Bachmann doesn’t get you going, try moving onto other issues, like the homophobia she and her husband display – or – how she has “promised” $2.00- gas if she is elected president. Nobody can promise that…. unless they are just making it up.
I’ve had enough “making it up” with this administration to last me quite a while. If I want to retire this group, I surely do not wish to replace ‘em with a right wing lunatic version.
Chris Wallace of Fox News asked her this a month ago. After her win in Iowa, he invited her back. Only an idiot would return to that hotseat. And Wallace is on Fox (friendly to Red Party?)
Pinzgauer, I hope you saw the Anderson Cooper/CNN segment tonight about the many Bachman incorrect statements. It was all fact about her many factually incorrect statements – it was not opinion.
If she’s an idiot, how long can it be until she wins a Nobel prize?
AlGore, any thoughts here?
Chris;
I, like many others here, will miss your well informed look at many interesting subjects during your upcoming sabatical. Looking forward to your return,
BR,
John
And the lady wrestler has entered the ring again. Lordy, it’s embarrassing being a woman these days.
tea party forever baby. drill baby dril.
I have a dinosaur saddle in my tack room but just as a curiosity.
Chris Wallace is Mike Wallace’s son. Mike of 60 Minutes fame – the very liberal news show, so it should not surPrise anyone where he really stands.
I want to know why our dumb-ass V.P. Biden gets a pass from the media and Bachman gets beat up. Has anyone ever really listened to the dribble that emanates from Biden?
