Latest batch of leaked emails (came out last week, although the New York Times hasn’t told its readers yet) show how scientists colluded with government to keep the hype (and the money) going.

If there was justice in this world, those involved would be prosecuted for fraud and would spend some time in prison; especially the politicians and bureaucratic hacks in the regulatory agencies that bribed the “scientists” to perpetuate this scam.
Hopefully, Al Gore’s cell mate will be the notoriously sex-starved “Bubba the Massive.”
I’m always amused how those on the left seem to think that crooks and liars can only reside in specific spots: the Republican party, bankers, Wall Street, rich people.
You can find ‘em anywhere and everywhere. Whether they’re on the right or left, irrespective of their religion or race – good guys and bad guys can be found.
I’m with Old Coot. Too bad these cheaters in the scientific and political community won’t either get the exposure in the press that they ought – nor the punishment for costing society literally billions and billions of wasted dollars.
And I hope you aren’t planning on waiting for the NYT to deliver this news to its readers. Hint: Hell will freeze over first. But wouldn’t it be cool if Al Gore went to jail?! Talk about justice being served.
Glad to read you had a good Thanksgiving. What a gorgeous day today, eh? We’re outside repairing fences ruined from Snowtober and also bringing in firewood for when Mother Nature says hey, how does Zero sound??
Yet? How bout Nov 22? Would that qualify?
Or are you just trolling for a lizard?

The article doesn’t say global warming is a crock, but rather, that evidence supporting MAN’S contribution to global warming, in this particular study, was a fraud. Reasonable people (and science) accept that the Earth is warming at an unprecedented rate and that the causes require further study. Whatever side you come down on, global warming is not a subject to be taken lightly.
IMHO, man is contributing to global warming. When you go from 1.5 billion people to 7 billion in 100 measly years, burning all of the crap/chemicals that we do, and considering that the atmosphere is akin to the skin of an apple, is it that hard to believe that we might be affecting the climate?
Too often it seems that politics are winning out over common sense.
The latest results mirror those from earlier, independent studies by scientists at NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York, the Hadley Center for Climate Prediction and Research in Britain, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).
Money for the new study, dubbed the Berkeley Earth Surface Temperature project, came from five foundations, including one established by Microsoft founder Bill Gates and another from the Charles Koch Charitable Foundation, widely seen as a source of money for conservative organizations and initiatives that have fought efforts to curb greenhouse-gas emissions.

So few of the footsoldiers in this green army seem to have any idea that there is huge political motive to de fund western energy sources in order to ” redistribute ” the world’s wealth…
And a Univ of Maryland study shows that watching Fox News makes you stupid…http://www.alternet.org/module/printversion/149193
And reading the NYT for 30 consecutive days has been demonstrated to have exactly the same effect as frontal lobotomy.Editing that same paper has the same effect but it’s instantaneous. See, eg, their editorial today on how to “solve” the foreclosure propblem.
I’m still waiting for their expose on their owners, the Sulzberger family, and how the generous tax laws and inheritance provisions have enabled the Ochs/Sulzberger dynasty to maintain control of their paper. They can go after the Lauders and various others, criticize estate tax discussions, yet are remarkable silent about themselves.
And Fox News viewers are more likely to think global warming is a crock…No surprise.

off topic here, but someone just quoted me $750 to string up lights on our front lawn’s big tree. there’s got to be a cheaper way! any suggestions or local recommendations? you’re always helpful here. happy holidays!
The fact that the earth is warming and man is contributing in part by burning fossil fuels is scientific fact. However, the extent of man’s contributions and the magnitude of future warming is very much unknown. The behavior of these “scientists” to silence reasonable discourse and questioning of doomsday climate forecasts is embarrassing to the scientific community. There should be no unquestioned dogma in science.
You have to distinguish the issue of “global warming”, a claim that temperatures are going nowhere but up and which is -not- supported by science, with “climate change” the far vaguer notion that the climate is, well, changing, and is supported by both science and common sense. Then in either issue you have to split out the man-made component, if any, with sun spots, albedo shifts, and any other number of natural phenomena.
The worst part about all of this rubbish is that you shoudn’t need to be browbeaten into believing in anthropogenic global warming in order to support cleaner energy, more fuel-efficient low emissions cars, etc.; they’re good ideas regardless of the weather. This tells you that all this talk about man-made global warming (or, for that matter, most ‘green’ issues like banning fracking) aren’t about the environment at all, they’re just about usurping more government power.
From a cursory view of the “poll” questions it appears the Fox viewers are rather well informed regarding what is true.
Ask any real estate agent, 9.5%.
My roses are in bloom today.
Is that code, Peeps? If Walt hears that there may be unintended consequences.
It’s not really code, but I knew it would instigate him. it just felt so funny to be out hanging my Christmas lights and while trying to avoid crushing the roses. I wonder how Rose Acres off of King Street is doing today.
