I blame Sam Romeo

The Moron of NOPO, Sam Romeo (artist's likeness)

The NOPO Pol led a bunch of Mianus types in a suit against the town over excessive sewer line costs, and he had a point, maybe: too much police overtime, bad construction, whathaveyou. But now, after four years of litigation, a settlement has been reached whereby each plaintiff will receive $2,400 off their sewer bill, spread out over twenty years. So that’s $120 per year. I’d guess that these people spent far more than that on legal fees and for sure the town did. Waste of money.

Sam’s a Constable…so you better watch your arse.

  2. I think that’s Donny, not Sam, but hey, I’m a clam warden, and I’m on duty tomorrow morning at Tod’s. I’d like to see him try to slip an under-sized clam past me! But damn, I still don’t have a carry permit.

Who needs a carry permit when you’re a loose cannon?

    I meant that affectionately. ;)

What’s a little money when you can brag to the entire world that you were in the right. Maybe they’ll feel a little better if the Greenwich Time sends them a reporter to get the story out that it is possible to fight city hall and “win”.

Each homeowner contributed $200 to the legal fund. They received back $2400 through the appeal. A great return on investment. AND they were right.

Thanks Sam! Get a clue Chris!

  6. And receiving $120 per year over the next twenty years will change your life how?

    What does NOPO stand for?

  8. North of Post Road. I dreamed it up when NYC was going crazy coining SoHo and all those other new yuppie neighborhoods.
