Obama hosted Bush the First and his son Jeb (and not surprisingly, not Bush II) at the White House yesterday. A nice gesture, but I was saddened to see George B in a wheelchair – wasn’t he just jumping out of an airplane to celebrate his 80th birthday?

Hey my friends; appreciate your bodies while they work well. My mom was a health nut her entire life; made us eat nutritious food constantly (we had to go to our friends to get the good stuff) and exercised like a demon every single day. Then – at 80 – a back ailment and surgery essentially altered her life forever.
Jumping out of planes one day; wheelchair the next. Few of us think “oh wow; I can walk and talk just fine” – but – we ought to appreciate it while we’ve got it.
Looking at that photo, however, I would like to permanently retire the fellow on the right to the golf course. Only wishing for long term health for him!
I don’t know Peg. You know the soon to be former president is going to be doing the speech circuit that retired leftist wankers seem get invited on with tons of free publicity, and being petulant and wholly free of the concept of being “classy” he’ll be going on and on and on.
I full expect to be retired by the time I no longer have to hear his blatherings.
Let’s not get wax too nostalgic for the old oil company “landman” — a job title that’s job description would be con artist and thief. See Webster Tarpley’s, Bush: The Unauthorized Biography, the American Caligula : http://tarpley.net/online-books/george-bush-the-unauthorized-biography/
And who can forget George and Barbara’s interview on Larry King, which has long since been removed from existence without any trace, where in response to a question in regard to Hurricane Katrina and the peasants, oops, I mean people, trapped at the Superdome, she answered, “I don’t know what they’re complaining about they’re all underprivileged people.” (Let them eat cake). If you harbour any good feelings for the Bushes you should read Tarpley’s free online Bush biography: it’s well documented, and will forever change your mind.
Fred2 – let him go on and on and ON and on…. Just as long as he’s not doing it from the White House!
It was 41′s 85 birthday when he last jumped out of a plane, landing safely on the grounds of St. Ann’s Church in Kennebunkport.
