Keep those budget deficits growing and we may yet whip this country back into shape. California high speed train is dead.

Good to hear it.
Off-Topic: EOS announced the end of the road for her great little blog. Get over there and whip her back into shape.
You have to love it. The greens wanted the rail system to help the environment and then some greens want to sue to stop the construction in the name of the environment. New York City never built the Westway that was started about 40 years ago because of the legal actions.
Off topic but worth a look. Gun fun in Maine — a citizen exercise his rights:
Nice video, the police guy was insistent and pushy, but reasonably professional. Maybe it’s low expectations, but I suspect in many jurisdictions dude would be bitching from the hospital, the video would be “in evidence” and suffer technical problems so it couldn’t be shown, or the entire camera “accidentally” get crushed to sand.
Dude knows his laws cold though, and managed to stay calm.
So who does police decals? Police cars seems to have sprouted all manner of dumb graphics.
And the metro north is now the number 1 commuter rail system in the country and Stamford the number 1 reverse commuting destination in the country.
“At Fordham, about 730 people get on trains in the morning to go to New York City, and about 5,550 get on trains to head north,” away from New York City, she said. “Reverse commutation is here to stay.”

CC: As long as I can remember, Fordham has been the base station for the hardworking support staff who head north daily to work at homes along the Fairfield coast. I doubt they see it as reverse commutation.
Uh, okay anon, I’m not sure what point you are trying to make. I’m just sharing the news.
Cobber,
What was your point?
CC: the folks getting on at Fordham heading north aren’t exactly what I would call high achievers or earners. But you can spin it any way you like..
