Big sale, little sale and a puzzling one

55 Otter Rock

55 Otter Rock Drive, Belle Haven, asked $10.750, sold in 26 days for $10.5 million. Someone sure wanted to live in Belle Haven,

27 Byfield, 2 acres of swamp land (to be fair, only half looked soggy), with a tear-down house, sold for $1.280 million on a $1.495 asking price. I don’t get it.

79 Crawford Terrace I do get. One of those 60′s contemporaries below Havemeyer, decent street and at $749,000 I’m not surprised it has an accepted offer in just 9 days.

Man, if I had $10m to spend on a house, it would NOT be 55 Otter Rock. The location is at a busy corner, no privacy, no waterview, or little, and as long as I am dumping on this house, its architecture seems top heavy or bulky. Doesn’t do a THING for me. Otherwise………..

Otter Rock looks to be a beautiful house, but what the heck is going on with the furniture? Was it staged? Good golly, that is weird to the eye. Victorian home with cheap looking contemporary furniture? Guess the buyer had a good vision for the house. The seller, not so much.
