McDonalds may be going after the munchies market, but Obama is going after medical marijuana, something he said he wouldn’t do, and another promise broken. The whole marijuana thing is a prime example of what we the governed have to put up with. In Canada the Liberals were going to legalize it — the US went ballistic — then the Conservatives finally got an unopposable majority in parliment and the non elected Senate so they could ram anything through and now we have laws in place that will put someone convicted of possesion of a few plants in prison longer than someone convicted of raping a child — how schizophrenic, how insane! But then there are private prisons to fill and many states have contractual obligations to fill them whether they have enough criminals or not.
The idea that someone can be thrown out of the Olympics for testing positive for marijuana shows how ridiculously politically correct above all else the olympics has become:
There is no proof that marijuana enhances performance any more that smoking banana peels, remember that? This is all about political correctness. Political correctness and globalism has so permeated the Olympics and the announcers presentation of whatever event was on that I could only watch a few minutes at a time before turning it off, fearing I was going to puke.
As for those of you who think marijuana and driving are dangerous, there was a case number of years ago in Ontario, Canada where a medical marijuana smoker was caught and arrested for impared driving for smoking a joint while driving. He was acquitted because the Crown couldn’t prove that smoking pot impaired driving in any way at all. In fact scientific studies have proved that being high on pot has no effect on driving at all. There are illegal studies that have been carried out by police that don’t even measure up to junk science (when the result is predetermined before the experiment, it’s not science, just propaganda). But then, there are prisons to be filled and profits to be made therefrom.
I think we need the return of Jimmy Carter to take the politics out of the Olympics, then we can just enjoy it for, as Mitt would say, “the sport”.
Sport is good, me like sport.
