The Messiah channels Dan Quayle

Can’t do math, can’t spell, what the heck did he learn during that childhood in Kenya?

there are now TWO photos of this YMCA spelling game; Obama himself tweeted one correctly spelled and obama’s peeps are saying the OIHO pic is photoshopped; others say no way if you look at the details – like people’s watches, etc. Jake Tapper is saying the OIHO photo is BS, this from the man who just this morning declared the mainstream media is failing the country. Not so fast.

oooooh, retract a claim, WaPo? That must have stung worse than the jelly fish that got Diana Nyad (who, I have to say, is such an amazing positive incredible woman. I would stand in line to meet her any day).

  6. How dare anyone criticize the Giver of Light! Everyone knows that Ohio is spelled “Oiho” in Kenyan, and in some Indonesian dialects.

Gotta put my two cents here re: Diana Nyad. What a waste of time and effort! This lady had 42 safety personnel following her, multiple boats, untold resources – so she could swim from Cuba to Florida??? And failed Four times?
It just strikes me as a great waste – why not do something USEFUL with your time and money? Like teach inner city kids to read. Or SWIM for that matter?
I suppose I understand Mt. Everest for Sir Edmond Hillary and Tenzing Norgay, but it just seems that the army of people necessary for this swim is ridiculous. People swim the channel all the time with just a boat following them. Why is this deemed so important?
Feel free to instruct me in what I am missing, Anon. I just don’t get it.

GG: Understandable, your comment because little is known about Diana Nyad other than her Cuba to Florida swims. Let me say I have had the pleasure of meeting her and she radiates with the power of positive thinking. Her swims are all privately funded and/or by sponsorships money. She receives no federal or state money for her swims so if she wants 100 people around her, no problem from me. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa from college, speaks several languages, worked for several sports networks as a commentator, has written a few books, teaches swimming to inner city kids and goes on the lecture circuit, often talking about overcoming a difficult youth to become such an accomplished athlete. She was inducted into the Swimming Hall of Fame in 1986.

She’s a successful business woman besides, owning half of a company called BravaBody, gearing exercise the to “fit and fabulous over 50″.

Nyad has said that many people assume it is her ego that is driving her desire/compulsion to swim from Cuba to Florida, and she admits part of that is true, but she said it’s history to be made, history that is yet unaccomplished, so why not?

Seek her out if you can on one of her public speaking engagements. Or ask her to speak at a club/organization you belong to. You will not be disappointed. She’s a fabulous role model for anyone, male or female.
