Sidwell Friends crossing guards

Sidwell Friends crossing guards

Sidwell Friends School (“Friends” being the pacifist “Quakers”, ironically enough) keeps eleven armed security guards on hand at all times, plus a Secret Service contingent when O’Bama’s kids are visiting from Hawaii. These guards, you understand, weren’t placed there after the First Family selected the school as the perfect place for Mushnut and Whatshername, they were there before and they’ll be there after – it’s standard operating procedure.

Who attends Sidwell? The children of our elected politicians – there’s not a child of this privileged class who attends Washington’s public schools – and those of the very media types who call the NRA a bunch of lunatics for suggesting we place armed guards in our schools. In this case, “little people” does not refer to size of the students but to us, the bitter clingers.

Over and over, we see this hypocrisy from our elected officials. We, the people, have certain rules we must follow. And they, our leaders – are exempt.

How come only nutcases like those of us here at FWIW seem to think there is something wrong with this picture?

No, seems like 47.5% of the country think there is something wrong with the picture, and 51.5% like the picture.

      Peg,
The concept of royalty apparently has great appeal to many people. I’m not surprised that there are people who would like to be queens or kings. I am a little confused by the number who seem to want to be serfs.

I believe there are two types of liberals: the useful idiots and the would-be tyrants. Both are very dangerous and must be stopped. They want to disarm you so that they can appropriate your wealth and control your life. Of course, they’ll never admit it. But that’s exactly what they want. Self-aggrandizement, wealth, and power. Pay attention, folks. They want your guns, your wealth, and your freedom.

And if they come for my guns, they can have them – bullets first…

Ironic since Sidwell is the second tier private school in Washington, the St. Albans and National Cathedral wannabe. Guards might be there to keep the reprobate kids in, not the rabble out.

Please do not defile those of us of Irish descent by using an apostrophe in The Amateur’s name. Just sayin……….

But that’s because slots at Sidwell Friends have been reserved for presidential litters for the past several decades. It’s an automatic perq, like being able to slurp their Spaghetti-Os out of Abe Lincoln’s china. Absolutely no need for Sidwell to thrash the unemployment lines by hiring and firing their JBTs “as needed,” because individual rulers may come and go, but there will always be rulers in DC.

Can we get a list of parents of students at Sidwell? Might come in handy pointing out the hypocrisy of the parents…

Hypocrisy runs deep in Washington. They’ll never take the guns. Go back and read the Founding Fathers words, the ones they wrote with their own hand…written in cursive(photocopy’s of course), look for books written around or before the turn of the century and see all they had to say. A mighty big change has occurred since then. Don’t let our modern values overwhelm your good sense.
