Al Franken “undecided” on assault weapon ban. “He’s been listening to Minnesota”, a spokesman said, “trying to be thoughtful on this and trying to get input from people from a wide spectrum of views.” If I really believed that he was trying to be thoughtful and ignore the hysteria loosening the bowels of his fellow liberals, my respect for this clown would go up considerably. But I’ll settle for him counting votes among his rural constituents and figuring out that he can ban weapons or be reelected, but not both.

Quite a bit more than a few firearm manufacturers in MN. No doubt Franken doesn’t want to endanger his chances at re-election to that wonderful club he recently joined.
Didn’t stop my boy Cuomo…
True, but there’s a chance that’s not over yet. Also, much smaller population with different demos.
Dude –
I think the mass shootings are due to mental health issues, and won’t be changed by any new, more restrictive gun laws. And watch, they will stop calling it “gun control” and change it to “gun safety”.
Anyhows, looking at this logically, doesn’t electing Jesse Ventura and Al Franken to office in Minnesota tell you the populace there is too crazy to own guns? I mean what other proof do you need? Plus they actually live in Minnesota. And like it. STRIKE TWO!!
And they eat lutefisk. STRIKE THREE!!
Take the guns away from these crazy Nordic BASTARDS!! Before they have a shoot out at the OK Igloo.

To put it lightly, I was never much of a fan of Sen. Franken. That is, until he voted against the NDAA.(For those readers who do not know what this is, PLEASE look it up.) One of only 13 Senators to do so, he was not willing to send the Bill of Rights into the shredder unlike the other 86 cowards. So honestly, don’t sell him short.
I’ve lived in MN since 1973. Not sure how long it’s been – but – apparently if you’re not a little whacko and either really really REALLY far right OR far left – you cannot get elected.
Being a diaper-wearing clown gets you extra points, too – as does a boa. Go figure.
Paul Wellstone of MInn was probably the most liberal members of the US Senate. He was very well respected. Franken is a joke.
There are always exceptions who prove the rule. Although Wellstone and I agreed on perhaps 6% of issues overall, I respected and liked the man. He was close friends with a number of my good friends, so I had the opportunity to meet Wellstone and his wife on a few occasions. A very decent man who truly was attempting to do what he thought was best for the country. That plane crash…. was a tragedy.
Given that I am such a genteel lady, I will refrain from adding my thoughts about Franken
This is a tough decision for Franken. Just as difficult decision as John Boehner has to make everyday: Merlot or Early Times.
Norm Coleman, Franken’s opponent in 2008, is the guy who said the day after the election in 2012 that it is now the WOP…the white old party instead of the GOP. Maybe Franken should smoke a pipe and use a Blackberry like old white people? Wait a minute, many old GOP’ers are wearing diapers already..??
Okay, your post calls people drunks, senile, old, white – anything of substance to offer or is that what passes for intelligent commentary in your small world?
Dude -
He says “wearing diapers” like it’s a bad thing.
Sheesh.
Your Pal,

OK, facts: Boehner has been very open about his meeting lobbyists in K Street watering holes. Norm Coleman did say that comment. I then used some humor, like you do with your posts. I did not say drunk, or senile. Now I could have said Michelle Bachmann has to decide everyday between a hairdo or a brain transplant, but that would be inappropriate.
Sorry, thought you were slipping down to Dollar Bill’s range. I apologize – fire away.
