49 Hillside Drive, new construction that’s been for sale since September ’07 (when it was still under construction) has drifted down from its original asking price of $5.990 million to, today, $4.989. That spares it from being included in the other 54 (53, now) spec homes on the market asking $4.995 and above, but that’s about it.

Is that the one with no backyard (though a nice-looking house)? That was a tremendous amount of money for no yard and on the same street as the High School. We thought high $3’s.

OK, I’m thinking of Hillside ROAD; there is a spec house closer to Fairfield than the Post Road, on the opposite side of the street from the High School; it’s been for sale for a long, long time.

Remember,”road” public school, “drive” private school. But each has a spec house going nowhere!

Speaking of spec houses – did either of those two spec houses on the Mianus River at Lake View Drive ever sell? The other evening we were driving down Valley (across the river) and thought we saw lights in the house but didn’t have time to do a drive by of the property.
