You can start the end of American hegemony clock now

Not long ago New York City, and therefore the Unites States, was the financial capital of the world. The city prospered by taxing the billions generated by Wall Street wizards and redistributed that money to the deserving and undeserving alike. Wall Street is gone and the city is reduced to taxing plastic bags to keep itself going. Will the last person to leave Manhattan please put out the recycling bin?

Actually, Greenwich can lay claim to being financial capital of world, if MidtownManhattan’s stature is at risk…almost as many HF titans work in Greenwich as work in Midtown these days

And balance may tip further toward Greenwich w/higher NY income taxes (esp vs CT) and rapidly falling NYC QOL (and increasing street crime), ala ’70s….

people are always worried about the return of NYC crime, like it was back in the 70s and even 80s.

    I think it is alarmist.

There are video surveillance cameras everywhere you go in the city for one thing. And the city is a vastly different place than it was when “the Bronx was burning”. also there is no crack epidemic to fuel crime and violence.

    stay tuned.
