Give it back! Give it back!

Where are the Blumenthal/Cuomo subpoenas of yesterday? Ralm Rahm Emanuel pocketed $320,000 for a no-show job at Freddie Mac while corruption reigned. Maybe he paid taxes on it – that would make it alright.

Again, you’re failing to understand the nuance here; Rahm was doing the right thing by not letting a crisis go to waste. Now do you get it?

    It’s Rahm, not Ralm.

  3. I’d love to read the story, but the link you posted was about farmers getting paid for not farming carbon. Or something like that.

If busted, offer to donate fees to charity, so taxpayer can subsidize one’s tax-deductible attempt to launder one’s reputation

If not busted, enjoy the proceeds; pay taxes only if facing Cabinet confirmation…use Turbo Tax defense for oversight and claim thought Board work is non-taxable as it’s public service

Old Coot’s parenthetical question could be interpreted as being anti-Semitic, but perhaps it’s just ignorant.

I’d think he’s just ignorant like me, Hiram – I have no idea what kind of name Rahm is, either. But I’m still sorry to have lost CEA as a reader because of this perceived issue so I’ve edited the comment. Sheesh it’s getting tough around here – you should see the nasty emails from my real estate “colleagues”!

The hypocrisy in this administration just never stops.

You can’t make this stuff up.

I didn’t precisely know what kind of name Rahm was either, but I thought it was a good bet that it was Hebrew. I don’t like Rahm Emanuel because of his politics, not his name.

I apologize…ignorance is no excuse, but it’s all I’ve got.

  9. Hu Nhu ?

The hair-trigger accusations of anti-semitism are so pervasive that the practice has become its own form of bigotry, practiced by those so ready to level the charge. The term “anti-semitism” has been used in so many frivolous ways that is has become a debased currency for any serious exchange of opinion. America is neither a racist nor an anti-semitic society. Granted, we have our fair share of idiots, but they are a tiny minority, dispersed widely throughout all components of our melting pot.

    I strongly agree with HuNhu.
