City elects conservative lesbian as mayor.
My conservative gay friends tell me that being both is a hoot, at least in New York City, where, when they disclose their political beliefs, are met with disbelief: “But, but, you’re gay!” Never assume.

All that matters in TX is preservation of no state income tax and a pro-business ethos
Being gay does not mean that you’re a moron about fiscal responsibility 🙂
Harken back to the days of that uber pariah of Republican pariahs, Joe McCarthy, the hard charging, hard drinking, Irish Senator from Wisconsin, and Roy Cohn, the NY, Jewish, gay-in-the-closet chief counsel to his committee. Joe stood by Roy at great political cost after Roy was outed and viciously attacked by those usually open minded, compassionate liberals. One of the more interesting stories from M. Stanton Evans’ superb, revisionist history of the McCarthy Era, “Blacklisted By History”.
I agree with Peg. If I were gay, I would rather be straight than a Demoncrat.
I think you can be gay and also be conservative on lots of issues. But I don’t understand gay Republicans.
I know gay Catholics – go figure.
