Feingold unhappy with Alito

“He was supposed to sit there and take it”, the Senator  wails. On a brighter note, Wisconsin is unhappy with Feingold: latest poll shows Tommy Thompson leading him 47-43%. Bye bye, Russ.

  1. Do you remember Tom Daschle? Neither do I.

  2. Pinzgauer

Take what? A complete lie to the Amercan People and Congress (notice how I separate the two) about the Court’s ruling? The Decision left all provisions about foreign monies vis à vis the election laws unchanged. There is no way that the oh-we-are-so-smart Administration did not know this.

Pinzgauer, read the dissent and you’ll know where he was coming from. In the interest of full disclosure, I must confess complete cynicism about this on all sides of the political spectrum. If Americans can get complacent about “bribery” becoming “free speech,” it’s only a matter of time before SCOTUS is feeding at the trough. Happens every day in Mexico, Brazil, Pakistan. Corruption is the norm, not the exception.

I wasn’t remarking on the pros or cons of the ruling. I commented on the fact that once again a complete lie was told and none is ever supposed to challenge them.

Not a lie Pinzgauer. A prediction. “Open the floodgates” is predictive, not descriptive. And it’s accurately descriptive, regardless of your political palate.

A prediction then. A prediction based on a premise which is a lie.
