Instapundit offers this story from WaPo: “Under Obama, more targeted killings”. Bush could always capture these guys and place them in Cheney’s basement for intensive interrogation. ‘Bama can’t, so we just kill ’em. Okay with me but then, I’m not a liberal.
I’ve always assumed that units in the field stopped taking prisoners – or took a lot fewer – the moment the ACLU and their ilk began gaining traction on the issues of U.S. constitutional rights for prisoners, gaining release of prisoners, etc. Would you be letting someone who tried to kill you survive if you thought they might be back in the fight before too long and that you or someone on your side might be killed or harmed by them?
I sure hope so (that they’re taking care of them in the field).
