New York Times: nothing to see here, move along, move along

Fear of terrorists is sixty years old, It didn’t happen then, so it won’t happen  now. I have my doubts but then, I didn’t go to Yale.

    let’s see, Muslim terrorists used to raid African villages and sell their captives to the slave trade, Muslim terrorists (Barbary Pirates) used to raid the sea coast towns of Spain, Portugal, Italy and France, among others, taking captives and using them as slaves, especially Christian ones, enslaving over 1.5 million people. Despite their defeat in 1816 by Lord Exmouth, they returned to their piracy ( terrorism) and finally France colonized Algeria to get a grip over the thieving, terrorizing Muslim pirates. This fight is 1500 years old, not 60….
