The market is doing to Microsoft what the Justice Department could not

Between Apple’s iPhone and Google’s Android, have you even heard of Microsoft’s cellphones? The biggest, baddest company in the world can’t seem to compete. They’re tossing out a bunch of executives this week and I presume will try to start over, but if regulator types would just learn to relax, consumers can handle monopolies all on their own – if a product sucks, they will buy something else. Nokia has learned that, too.

Google is the Microsoft of modern era: a lucrative, one-trick pony; the smartest engineers retired years ago as wealthy young guys, off to semi-retirement and life as angel investors and/or to start some new tech co. (many of Google’s early investors who became billionaires from Google were similar young semi-retirees of ’80s-’90s tech era)

Creative destruction and new wealth creation at its best; will be future Microsofts/Apples/Googles of next tech era

After all, Apple rose from the dead only some 5 yrs ago; these days, Apple has eclipsed Microsoft as world’s second most valuable co. (just trailing Exxon)

The market works…MS products suck. Their biggest money maker, MS Office, was nothing but a copy of Lotus 123, Harvard Graphics and WordStar. Browser was a copy of Netscape and it sucked at first.

Operating system is still MS DOS at its core, which was a copy itself. It sucks.

Apple products are innovative, fast and user friendly. Google products are innovative. MS has never been an innovator…great marketing and copying…shitty products.

I guess you can tell I’m not an MS fan.

you can see that ms has peaked. they will probably manage to maintain themselves in a capacity like ibm has in the pc era. still very relevant but not king. ibm had the 50s, 60s and 70s and ms had the 80s, 90s and 00s. the next 30 years will be google vs apple.
