If the Pentagon doesn’t want me to read it, I want a copy.

The Pentagon is trying to buy out all 10,000 copies of Operation Dark Heart, a memoir of the war in Afghanistan.I just ordered a copy from Amazon. Will I get it? Who knows? Let you know in two days.

When I learned, through of all sources the NY Times, that major investments were made in Dubai real estate by our putative Afgan allies I knew it was game over. Whichever qualities one can ascribe to our current administration in Washington, DC the fact that they continue to ignore the lessons of history and specifically the words of Dwight David Eisenhower who was wise enough to warn us about the rising influence of the military-industrial complex tells me that we are not on the right path. It causes me to think our current President is not up for the job.

On the other hand, it was a great day on LIS in the Old Lyme area today where the waters are clean as a whistle,

    God Bless America,

So, ah, you are not upset that a nice ‘loyal’ US agent of arms has decided to cash out and put his colleagues and fellow citizen’s at risk?

The dufus could at least change the names in the book, not to mention wait 5 or more years before publishing.

Without knowing more, he looks like a selfish jerk hungry for fame.

A seven-year-old story about special ops “AND THE PATH TO VICTORY.”

Sounds like Shaffer’s writing for The Daily Show.
