Paul Tudor Jones hits the exit bar

Know a good real estate agent?

Get while the getting’s good. The easy money’s been made, the hedge funders are retiring. I’d go see the Christmas light display this year, before it’s too late.

$17 million in, $11 million out – such is New Canaan

Jet Blue’s founder is hoping to salvage something from his two-year-old mansion. He won’t get it because, if it’s possible, New Canaan’s market is even more dormant that Greenwich’s. And don’t let agents tell you otherwise.

Thank you for your kind words of condolence

I have  friends who have lost children, so I don’t want to equate the death of a pet with that tragedy, but it feels like we’ve lost a member of the family. I enter a room and look for Henry and of course, he’s no longer there. I adopted him seven years ago on Christmas Eve so he had a good life – I just wish it had been longer. I buried him today overlooking the creek, where he used to perch on the seawall and watch ducks with a wary eye. Sleep well, my friend.

Henry the Wonder Cat is dead

My best guess is that he was dosed with a flea treatment, Advantix, that’s fatal to cats. An awful loss.

Fire the TSA

A Republican reminds airports that they need not employ TSA to provide security. I’m sure there are Israeli  firms that can do a far better job, and be less intrusive. Go for it.

One sick cat

My mother dosed Henry the Wonder Cat with flea medicine yesterday and he appears near death today. He and she (and brother John) are off to the Norwalk  emergency vet hospital, but I’ve always been suspicious of these poisons. Better a few fleas than a dead cat. Especially Henry, who has brought true joy to my mom’s life these past five years. Who sells this stuff, and why?
