  1. Chris, When you read the comments to this article many of the comment agree with you. Global warming a big scam.

If Mirriam defines scam as “a dishonest way to make money by deceiving people,” who is making money off of global warming? (I mean besides Gore selling his books and speaking engagements)

Here we go again with the stupid “it snows in England(!) so global warming is a hoax”. I don’t remember a discussion on this blog of the Russian heat wave this year with temperatures over 110 degrees, or the fact that it was one of the hottest summers on record in England this year.
Here’s your setup: Why is being against global warming as a theory, with only anecdotes as evidence, such a right-wing core belief. And, if you can answer snark-free, you get bonus points.

  4. First, Al Gore has made hundreds of millions in the defunct Chicago Carbon Exchange and other ‘green’ investments.

Second, I and other right-wingers are against the man-caused global warming theory because it’s clearly being used to justify further money and power grabbing by government.

FF, who do I call to cash in my bonus points? Peggy?

If the TPTB really want to cut emissions, then do it. Don’t set up market devices that can be exchanged. In Los Angeles they wanted to cut pollution and the set up pollution credits the big manufacturing and refineries could buy so they didn’t have to change the way they operated. A whole bunch of old cars were scraped and the credit bought by the polluters. They did get the old cars off the road, but nothing was done with the gross polluters. Cap and trade is the same scam, with the added bonus of setting up an exchange that can be manipulated with debt obligation and counter party swaps. Yes a win win for the “squid”.

  6. No worries mate

Who is making money, let me count the ways.
    Professors with BS grants
    Book sellers
    Environmental groups
    Lobbyists
    “clean energy” VCs
    Clean energy companies
    Subsidized crap like ethanol
    Lawyers
    Lawyers
    Did I mention lawyers.

Do I need to go on?
Ok, but the real issue is who it costs? By controlling you and me, and driving up the cost of anything and everything,

  7. The Duke of Deception

When the Duke thinks of Al Bore one word comes to mind: douchebag.

  8. Cobra

Duke…I think a more specific word to describe the wombat is “douchnozzle.”

  9. Not just a douche-nozzle, but a serial grad school dropout as well. See, http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/763182/posts
