Malloy is pushing a “luxury tax” on all cars costing more than $50,000 plus boats plus jewelry plus God knows what else. Never mind that this sort of tax has never worked before, costing more in lost jobs and revenue than it ever generates, it’s a popular sounding tax so Danno’s booked it.
Less popular will be his extension of the sales tax to haircuts and every other until-now exempt service including, I believe, real estate commissions. Oh, we’re all in for a swell time.
No sooner had I written yesterday that I didn’t need to know how to program a computer than my Internet link went down. Never tempt the fates. In the meantime, you haven’t missed much in the way of real estate news. 32 Pheasant Lane, asking $3.895, sold for $3.280, and that’s about it. Presumably there will be more tomorrow. I know my clients have an accepted offer on a very decent deal and I’m sure there are more such deals about to be reported.
