Box office draw of Atlas Shrugged baffles Hollywood

Duh. I reached out to Bow Tie Cinema, who runs our only theater in town, but they were unable to get a copy. Not the firm’s fault (admission – the owner is a friend and client, although I doubt we share political beliefs) but the distributor is literally out of copies. Maybe later. The film has legs, as it were.

I’ve dropped the subject

I’ve let a lot of comments go, just so this blog can move on. Sorry if yours was one of them.

Isn’t this why you buy futures?

American Airlines tanks on high fuel costs. I’m for sure not one of them, but there are really smart men and women out there who can figure this stuff out. Why wouldn’t an airline company hire one of them?

On a much more cheerful note

WFUV (90.7 FM) just played a riff from Robert Randolph and the Family Band. If you’ve missed this band, you’ve done yourself a disservice. The Allman Brothers, but, dare I say it? He’s better.

I’m the bad guy?

My fight with Shore & Country real estate is crazy – we’re dealing with a simple commission here – but I have clients who have waited patiently since October to buy a house they signed a contract for and finally, I’ve had enough. I have entrusted them to the charge of Tom Ward, the meanest of the Kaye brothers, and we’re going to do this deal. I have eliminated most of the nastiest comments about S&C because I don’t want to add fuel to the fire, but when their tech guy pretty much admits hacking my blog and shutting it down, what am I to think? And what kind of agent am I to let my clients lose a house they agreed to buy,in good faith, back in October?

Yeah, there’s a commission at stake here, and I never trust anyone who says” it’s not the money, it’s the principle”, but it’s the money and the principle. I want to be paid, but I want my clients to get the house they paid for. And. between me and Tom Ward, that’s going to happen.

Down goes the post on the GAR

I’m still peeved at having to undergo another grievance with my peers, but sorting through the comments to protect the staff was onerous, so, I just dumped the entire post. I’m not backing down, just protecting the entirely-blameless staff from some rude comments, which I should never have let get posted. My bad. But now we can start over!

Sure it’s nuts, but the Donald is having fun

The “Birther” movement is driving Republicans crazy, as it should, but what it really reveals, I think, is the lack of a genuine Republican candidate. I mean, really. Mitch Romney?

Tree chopping in Old Greenwich?

That’s the proposal. I don’t know – the ones across from my office seem small and inoffensive, but I guess store owners don’t like them. I do.
