How do you keep your friends and colleagues out of jail?

Delay reporting the results of your investigation for years until your biggest friend, Chris Dodd, is safely ensconced in a prime lobbying job an others have retired. House Investigative Committee says (shock!) that Countrywide bribed lawmakers. Not a single criminal charge was ever filed against Countrywide or the people it bribed on Capitol Hill. Nor will there be – we’ve “moved on”.

Not that you’d have time to read it in its entirety, but herewith the actual Issa report

SHOCKING, that our long time esteemed Senator Dodd would participate in such corruption. Fortunately, his Senate seat is now held by Richard Blumenthal, whose integrity has always been beyond reproach…..

I lost a substantial chunk of change when a long time successful fund I had (buddy of Warren’s) lost a ton due to Countrywide. Of course, don’t think I’m dumb enough to think that any of these Dems will ever meet with consequences due to their actions – nor their Countrywide buddies.

Look at the Orange Man himself – bulk of his settlements paid by D&O insurance policies, not the $600+mm he skimmed in comp over the years.

Mozilla was the subject of an investigation I believe, prior to Issa’s current one and substantial penalties were paid, but all by BOA who had indemnified his lying butt via the Countrywide purchase agreements. Quite unbelievable but true. This guy is one smart crook. Substantially smarter than BOA anyway.
