Here’s a surprise: media airbrushing out blacks from convention

I don’t have the energy to duplicate Glenn Reynold’s roundup of the major media’s deliberate attempt to stick to their story line: Republicans evil white racists, “African-Americans” cheerful, playful darkies dependent on Democrats for life itself. Can’t maintain that story line if there are actually intelligent, articulate kneegroes speaking at the Republican convention, so the press just ignores them and refuses to allow viewers to learn of them, let only listen to what they’re saying.

Here’s Glenn’s report detailing all this.

Definitely one of those “funny, that” moments, where because it’s SO pervasive on how it was done, that I can’t help but wonder at the EXTENT of the media’s agenda.

Seriously MSM guys and gals? Do you think you still have monopoly on the news and we can’t see what you are doing? I know that the blog readers and internet news are still in the minority about how people get their news, but it’s getting to be a big minority and it tends to be the people who talk to others and are involved.

Any somehow their ratings keep dropping.

  2. There’s no greater effing bastard on NBC than Chris Matthew’s. He’s the biggest racist of them all, baiting his audience exactly how Glenn describes. He claims to have a “book” …here’s the quote from the website Daily Rash: Warning: you may want to throw up:

Matthews said the photograph was sent to him by a former Bain investor who told him the book pictured is the one that Republicans, including presidential candidate Mitt Romney, have used as a source for racial coding since the Reagan era. After showing the photograph Matthews exploded with emotion.
“We now have the proof that exposes Mitt Romney and the Republican party for what they really are, a bunch of rich white guys who use coded language to tell the American people that Barack Obama is a black man. In this day and age, how is something like this possible?”

Worse than that, but with at least a better ending. Yahoo’s Chief Washington Bureau Chief, David Chalian was open-miked saying this last night: Again, WARNING, you may throw up:

In video broadcast Monday night by ABC and Yahoo over the Internet, Chalian can be heard claiming that GOP presidential candidate Mitt Romney and his wife Ann are unconcerned about the fate of residents of the New Orleans area who are currently being hit by Hurricane Isaac.

“They aren’t concerned at all,” Chalian can be heard on the live broadcast. “They are happy to have a party when black people drown.”

That line elicits laughter from several employees listening in on the joke.

The blogosphere and Twitter went crazy, Chalian got canned but so what, his words were out there, on air. so he got what he wanted.

The Mia Love story is sickening. She’s a magnificent woman, so smart, so well spoken. So too Artur Davis.

Welcome to Obama’s Let’s Hate White Rich Americans. Can you tell I'[m peeved???

  3. Okay, Houston, we have a problem. My dear hubby tells me that the website Daily Rash is like The Onion, a satire and parody. My bad. But the bit about the yahoo guy IS true. Apologies.

    • Aw, that’s the mark of great satire, when it’s close enough to the truth that it’s (almost) believable. I’ve several times had to point out to readers that the Onion is such a creation and of course Jonathan Swift’s “A Modest proposal”, the granddaddy of them all, was roundly denounced as barbaric when it was first published in 1729.

EOS: Its why its called the Daily Rash. It lays about, waiting to get quoted by good faith bloggers like you who later suffer embarrassing “rashes.”

I just read that Artur Davis knows how to determine his speech was successful. “MSNBC wouldn’t say anything about it!”

EOS, you suffer from Chris’s tendency take at face value all right wing misinformation . You probably also believe that Obama’s a Communist, that Hussein played a role in 9/11, Obamacare is a takeover of the health industry, and that tax cuts creates jobs and I bet you lapped up as the gospel truth every lie and distortion that poured from Ryan’s lips last night. But your reaction is instructive for it demonstrates that even “educated” Americans have lost the ability to think critically, instead gravitating to self-thinking propagandists who reinforce their own ill-conceived notions. You are, unfortunately, in good company on this site.

@EOS, I fell for it upon reading your post but that’s because I saw Mathews’ attack on Reince Preibus (sp?) on Morning Joe earlier today. The snarky “Rash” post could just as easily describe Chrissy’s hissy fit on MJ minus the “book photo”.

Worse, the WaPo reported today that when Ron Paul supporters acted up and were shouted down by chants of “USA” that, in the WaPo reporter’s version of reality, they were shouting down the delegate from Puerto Rico for speaking with a Spanish accent. Never mind that the delegate from PR briefly joined in on the USA chanting…sigh.
