Okay, no mortgage payments, but these people will sell their vote for a free ObamaPhone

If I were a Democrat and educated – okay, we’re talking fantasy here, but bear with me – I’d be embarrassed to be a member of the same party as this more typical representative of the party, but so far as I can tell, there’s just no embarrassing these people. God help our nation.

And I always assumed 3DB was of the male persuasion.

If you scrape the bottom of the Republican barrel, you come up with Beck, Coulter, Gingrich, Aiken, Santorum, Palin & Joe the Plumber. NOW THAT’S EMBARRASSING. Enough to knock your tea bags off your hat!
Come on now. There’s got to be something meaningful in that mind of yours. As an independent, I see you guys as anti-educated (calling Dems snobs for wanting to send their kids to college), anti-science (no need to explain), & anti-enlightened about just about every issue of modern life.
I find even commenting on this woman a sign of everything I just said. Smaller than she.

    • Your comment about college alone displays a knee-jerk, ignorant attitude sufficient to disqualify you from participation in any meaningful discussion of the issues. A cellphone for your vote would be overpaying.

    That ain’t no female. I don’t think it’s human.

An “independent” is just someone who is too much a pussy to take sides. You can’t play the game if you don’t choose a team to play on. What a tool.

  5. Then leave it to the Twittersphere to have fun….@TheObamaphone Twitter account is born with some very funny and quick responses online:
    I love this one:

Partisanship aside, what percentage of the American public are comparable with this woman, do you believe? It ought to be depressing for everybody, to say the least.

  7. CatoRenasci

Nana: [nonsense anti-Republican rant] … I find even commenting on this woman a sign of everything I just said….

I’m sure you’d much rather pretend that’s not the core of the Democrat party’s support.

Your level of willful ignorance matches that person’s obvious lack of cognitive ability.

    Dude –
This is why entitlement programs are so wrong.

They opened the back door for people to vote themselves the treasury. LBJ knew that precisely. This country survived and prospered for over 150 years without entitlement programs, and it is the entitlements enacted in the last 50 years that is killing it.

And Barry has taken it to a whole new level. People years ago were embarrassed by food stamps and welfare, were grateful to receive it, and wanted to get a job and a better life.

Barry has changed the message to “You are not getting enough free stuff. Sign up for more!! Vote for me and I will give it to you. The greedy 1% are screwing you”. So the people actually paying taxes, who are pulling the wagon, should pay more taxes, because they are somehow screwing the people sitting in the wagon, who pay no taxes. It really is bizarro world. And people actually believe this stuff, and they are close to being the majority.

Anyhows, it is a system doomed to fail. Chris Cruller, or is it Chris Crumbcake, the big fat Governor of New Jersey, said it well:

“Today, the biggest challenge we must meet is the one we present to ourselves. To not become a nation that places entitlement ahead of accomplishment. To not become a country that places comfortable lies ahead of difficult truths. To not become a people that thinks so little of ourselves that we demand no sacrifice from each other”.

But a free phone would be nice!!

    Your Pal,

Love Nana’s response. If we follow the Democrat’s prescription of spend, tax, regulate – then do it again and again and again – all the stuff she loves will cease to exist.

Anyone who isn’t horrified to see someone supporting a specific candidate because they got a free phone for their vote truly hasn’t a clue – irrespective of their political leanings.

And – I imagine that Nana is proud that these people are willing to protest for $11 an hour. Warms the cockles of your heart. (Wonder where THAT cash comes from…..?)

This woman is an excellent example of why voting in federal elections should be limited to individuals who pay federal income tax.

If I were a Tea Partier like CF, I’d be embarrassed to be a member of a party that mocked Parkinson’s victims,

But this is the face of today’s Republican Party. Watch this and cringe…

    • You know that joke about the old guy in the nursing home who goes to the movies with Sadie and not Zelda because Sadie’s got something Zelda doesn’t? Parkinson’s Disease! Oh, it’s a knee-slapper, Bill-one of my favorites.

“There is one problem with the Obama Phone: It doesn’t exist.

Since 2009, there has been an urban myth that Obama created a program to provide free phones to low-income Americans at taxpayer expense. There is, in fact, a government program that will provide low-income people with a free or low cost cell phone. It was started in 2008 under George W. Bush.

The idea of providing low-income individuals with subsidized phone service was originated in the Reagan administration following the break-up of AT&T in 1984. (It was expanded and formalized by the Telecommunications Act of 1996.) The program is paid for by telecommunications companies through an independent non-profit, not through tax revenue.” (CAP, 9/29/2012)

DB: it may not be called the ObamaPhone but it does exist: here’s how you can qualify:

there are two ways to qualify for a free cell phone from the government:

    (1) You already participate in another state or federal assistance program. This is the part that varies from state to state, but you most likely qualify if you are participating in programs such as food stamps (SNAP), public housing assistance, Medicaid, Section 8 housing, Supplemental Security Income, various Home Energy Assistance Programs, National School Lunch and other programs.

    (2) Your household income is at or below 135% to 150% (according to your state) of the Federal Poverty Guidelines:

    Hey it’s Julia !!!

She put her Pell Grant to good use, went to Harvard and got a double degree in Women, Gender, & Sexuality, and African-American Studies, and it only took her 23 years! Now she works for the Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice. In fact, she was at work when they took the video.

    Ain’t life grand!

  16. Federal Poverty Guideline for family of four = $23K
The rationale for the program is that it’s hard to get called back for a job/interview if you don’t have a phone

  17. DollarBill

Anon, program for free cell phone started under Bush. Does that make Bush a big government liberal?

  18. I wan ma free phone

Say BITCH, you spose them free cellphones can be used for calling a flash mob for somes smash n grab?????

  19. Westchesterer

A phone is going to help that idiot get a job? I sure hope you’re kidding. Nobody would be in business if they were giving jobs to these types of bipedal hominids. Except for one business. The business that is not driven by profit, but by corruption, inefficiency and shakedown. The monopoly that hovers over the very individuals that wish to be productive, and improve their lot of land, and prevents them from doing so. Only the thugerment would give this creature a job.

By the way. I, too, am an Independent. I do not believe everyone is entitled to a college education. Further, i believe the very notion only increase the price of a college education and leaves people indefinite in debt. If you can’t understand the simple fact that when more money follows the same amount of goods and services, that the price increases, then your opinion is worthless. Any good or service in which the government interferes with the free market creates bubbles, and bubbles, by their nature, pop.

People are fucking stupid and we should just accept that. If people on this blog are stupid, imagine the rest of the country.

  20. 3DB says the Obama Phone doesn’t exist?

Then why can you get one here? http://obamaphone.net/

There’s so much 3DB knows that just isn’t true.

  21. And 3DB also quoted, “The program is paid for by telecommunications companies through an independent non-profit, not through tax revenue.”

Umm, it may not be formally labeled as a tax, but telecom users pay for it in their bills and the government collects it from the telecom companies. Close enough for government work.

The example also shows how stupid 3DB really is, and, for that matter, so is any liberal who claims you really can get something for nothing.

Watch this video of Romney protesters paid by SEIU. They have handlers that make sure they aren’t allowed to talk to the press. That’s odd: protesters excercising their first amendment rights that aren’t allowed to speak to the freely. Does anyone see the irony — my first big word; learned from reading Superman comics? This very much reminds me of the BP oil spill cleanup workers who were “protected” from the press by thugs. The BP oil disaster with Coast Guard Admiral Thad Allen lunching daily with BP CEO Tony Hayward made it crystal clear for anyone to see that Obama was definitely not on America’s side.

I am sure you can find a bunch of Romney supporters that are clueless too, but this is so funny:

This all sort of reminds me of back when the banks were giving away free toasters if you opened an account.
