You realize that this is just further proof of “climate change”, doncha?
-30C, – 50C, that my friends, is scary cold.
Look into my eye, look into my eye, you are getting sleepy: bad weather is proof of global warming. Every action has an equal and opposite reaction; the colder it gets, the warmer it really is.

Chris,
What does NoPo in riverside/og stand for?
North of post road. I coined it maybe 15 years ago or so when I still wrote letters to the editor. Remember those? Editors?
Got it
Thank u sir
“The Moscow region saw temperatures of -17 to -18 degrees Celsius on Wednesday, and the record cold temperatures are expected to linger for at least three more days.”
Holy shit! That’s about 1ºF.
It’s not unusual to have cold snaps that last a week or two up here with temperatures in the -30°C to -32°C (-22°F to -26°F) with the record low hear being -38.9°C, which is about -38°F. Record snowfall is 444 cm, which is a lttle over 14 1/2 ft., average is eight to ten feet. The coldest weather I’ve gone skiing in was -33°C (-27.4°F) with a windchill of -45°C (-49°F), and I’m usually able to stay out for about two hours in that kind of weather before I have to go into the lodge to warm up. I could stay out longer if I had a North Face Himalayan suit (http://tnf.typepad.com/.a/6a00d834f4a66953ef01116841b5a1970c-800wi) or a Marmot 8000 meter suit (http://www.summithut.com/img/90/223/EEBF/44816/1000w.jpg) but they’re way to warm for normal winter weather around here which is usually around -12°C to -14°C (10°F to 6°F). I ski in a North Face Kichatna shell top (http://www.oocities.org/yosemite/trails/5414/kichatna.jpg) along with black three-ply Gortex shell Kichatna bib pants, much better than a single suit, the ultimate mountaineering setup, a versatile combination which can even be worn in summer as rain gear.
Forgot to add, those are in town temperatures; it’s few degrees colder up at the mountain, and few more degrees colder up at the top. Not very crowded though.
inconvienent truth?
