It’s an interesting reflection on American mainstream journalism that Pravda now lives up to its name while MSM has adopted the Pravda Stalin model

Post election, Pravada gave us an honest look at who Obama is and where he draws his base:

Obama was reelected by illiterates, while he himself is a communist.

Now it looks at the fraud that is global warming.

By Stanislav Mishin

For years, the Elites of the West have cranked up the myth of Man Made Global Warming as a means first and foremost to control the lives and behaviors of their populations. Knowing full well that their produce in China and sell in the West model and its consiquent spiral downward in wages and thus standards of living, was unsustainable, the elites moved to use this new “science” to guilt trip and scare monger their populations into smaller and more conservatives forms of living. In other words, they coasted them into the poverty that the greed and treason of those said same elites was already creating in their native lands.

The Baltimore Sun, which is very much not MSM, even if it would like to be, looks at our nation’s media and summarizers its coverage thus:

ON MSNBC, the ratio of negative to positive stories on GOP candidate Mitt Romney was 71 to 3.

That’s not a news channel. That’s a propaganda machine, and owner Comcast should probably change Phil Griffin’s title from president to high minister of information, or something equally befitting the work of a party propaganist hack in a totalitarian regime. You wonder how mainstream news organizations allow their reporters and correspondents to appear in such a cauldron of bias.

I thought show host Sean Hannity of Fox News defined party propagandist. But while his channel was bad, it wasn’t as bad-boy biased as MSNBC.

The ratio of negative to positive stories in Fox’s coverage of President Obama was 46 to 6.

Fox is just one channel, a lonely voice in the wilderness – MSNBC, on the other hand, has plenty of company, being joined in its efforts by every major news channel, every large newspaper and all of Hollywood. Those with an old style education will have learned a little US history that wasn’t restricted to slavery and oppression and may remember that the British band’s marching selection for their surrender at Yorktown was “The world turned upside down”. Pravda being more truthful than America’s media is one such reversal – it’s probably time to do it again.

  1. Funny, I posted this saying the NYT and Pravda seem to have switched places….

Indeed, the fourth estate has become the Ministry of Disinformation, and, unfortunately, most Americans sit in front of their big screen TVs in a hypnotic state and soak up the propaganda. Instead of of doing what they’re supposed to the Press has become complicit. No one in Germany, at the time, would have believed that their own government would have burned down the Reichstag, but they did. Just yesterday, the National Weather service purchased an extra 200,000 hollow point bullets. If you’re wondering what they intend to do with them, then ask yourself would the US government intentionally kill 3,000 of its own citizens on US soil in a false flag attack? Peruse this thorough report and examine the evidence for yourself and remember the Wolfowitz doctrine (we need a new Pearl Harbor):

You really do have to look outside the US these days for important news about what’s going on here. Increasingly the MSM seems to be what one would expect in a place like Venezuela, little more than a cheering section for those in power.

The Daily Telegraph and the Daily Mail, particularly their reporters’ blogs, are great places to find US news the MSM deems unfit to print. And to that one might occasionally add Russia Today and even Pravda.

I’m not saying those outlets don’t have biases. All media does. But counterweights to the MSM propagandists are needed.

“….For example, as we’ve previously noted, reporters censor themselves:

Initially, there is tremendous self-censorship by journalists.

For example, several months after 9/11, famed news anchor Dan Rather told the BBC that American reporters were practicing “a form of self-censorship”:

There was a time in South Africa that people would put flaming tires around peoples’ necks if they dissented. And in some ways the fear is that you will be necklaced here, you will have a flaming tire of lack of patriotism put around your neck. Now it is that fear that keeps journalists from asking the toughest of the tough questions…. And again, I am humbled to say, I do not except myself from this criticism.

What we are talking about here – whether one wants to recognise it or not, or call it by its proper name or not – is a form of self-censorship.

Keith Olbermann agreed that there is self-censorship in the American media, and that:

You can rock the boat, but you can never say that the entire ocean is in trouble …. You cannot say: By the way, there’s something wrong with our …. system.

As former Washington Post columnist Dan Froomkin wrote in 2006:

Mainstream-media political journalism is in danger of becoming increasingly irrelevant, but not because of the Internet, or even Comedy Central. The threat comes from inside. It comes from journalists being afraid to do what journalists were put on this green earth to do. . . .”

From The Cadets “Stranded in the Jungle”:

    …meanwhile back in the States,
    Baby, baby…
…I jumped outta the pot and finally got away
Frantic and worried about what my baby would say
So I jumped in the ocean and started to swim
But my chance of survival was gettin’ mighty slim…

    Gettin’ mighty slim indeed:

    Missing: 19,000 Massachusetts welfare recipients

Welfare recipients take out cash at strip clubs, liquor stores and X-rated shops

Obama supporters shocked, angry at new tax increases

Whoa! The Dems are finally starting to wake up, albeit a couple of months late and a lot of dollars short. Ever hear of impeachment? Need a reason? Try Libya.

  6. Hang on Chris, but Russia has Steve Forbes’ 15% flat tax and we have Karl Rove, er, Marx’ “progressive” cr@p? What’s wrong with this picture?
