“As a news organization, we are constantly defending the public’s right to know. Consequently we do not endorse the way the legislature has chosen to limit public access to gun permit data.”
The public’s right to know WHAT?!?! Who the hell is THIS woman and THIS (purported) news organization’s role to judge why private, legal ownership of something should become common knowledge?
I want to know what people have in their investment accounts. I want to know who is having abortions, using birth control, sleeping around, stealing from their employer, cheating on their taxes – and so forth and so on. (I’m afraid I am not a People Magazine subscriber.)
“Sorry, we did the wrong thing” is just not part of their vocabulary.
The theory of honesty, such as, “we don’t like guns, so we’re going to hang gun owners out there as much as possible,” would be beyond their conceptual model of reality.
Dude –
I think we need to have brunch with Janet Hasson. She can bring her armed security thugs, which she is entitled to, but not the “less than elite”. That would be you Dude. I can afford armed goons. You loser.
We should look her straight in the eye and tell her, over eggs benedict and Bloody Mary’s, what a cheap, lying, no-good, rotten, four-flushing, low-life, snake-licking, dirt-eating, inbred, overstuffed, ignorant, blood-sucking, dog-kissing, brainless, dickless, hopeless, heartless, fat-ass, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed sack of monkey shit she is! Plus she has BO. And she has no conscious. Or integrity. Or character. Or sense of moral obligation. And is out of touch with the normal person. Because she lives as a Queen Bee in a protected Liberal cocoon.
And she has a TOTAL lack of understanding of a bipartisan objective press. Which is meant to be neutral. Not a bully pulpit for her own Liberal Agenda. She has been given a position of trust, which she violated to the worst possible degree. She is an embarrassment to her “profession”. And the reason why no one reads newspapers anymore. She is liberalizing her way out of a profession. She is a Dodo bird. Which makes me sad, because a free republic needs an objective, non partisan free press.
She is basically a decrepit life form pretending to be a human being. I hope she cannot procreate.
Anyhows, we should have brunch with her so we can tell her what we really think. I don’t want to sugar coat it, like I have to do here, in a public forum. Do you want to reach out to her or should I?
Ask Ms. McBeal. Where has she been? You still boffing her? Tell her to go braless so I can properly assess her twins.
They pulled it because of legislation. They are gutless and their lawyers took over. If they believe they were right to publish the list when they did, they should leave it up and challenge the law. Force NY State to take them to court. Go all the way to the US Supreme Court.
I would think that legally “public information” would be public regardless of the number of individuals affected.
As a realtor, is a house less valuable if it was on the list? It is more likely to be burglarized.
And will be on that list forever, now that it’s on the Internet, so any new, non-gun owning buyer will be still targeted, but defenseless. Such a deal.
So it’s reasonable question for a prospective buyer to ask if the house has been on a list of registered gun owners. In NY the seller can reduce the sales price by $500 and not reveal anything. Money well spent.
If I worked for the editor I would have walked out when I saw she was now writing PR instead of news. She would have been better off admitting her mistake or the fact that she has turned her paper into a paper that voices her personal views instead of reporting news
Had nothing to do with the pressure, so they claim.
What a spineless fraud.

Peg: It’s called litigation posture. To admit they were wrong would be akin to an admission of fault.
Actually, in Japan for instance, they do admit wrong all the time. And – they have vastly less litigation over matters.

Your Pal,

You didn’t make us do it, we did it because we wanted to. We just didn’t feel like doing it before. So there.
That it was up 1 day, was too long. Good work CF!!!

Right to know. Sure.
Their USAToday on Nagin:
Former New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin indicted

From their story readers don’t have right to know Nagin is a Democrat.

And to Mr. Fountain….
“Our decision to do so is not a concession to critics that no value was served by the posting of the map in the first place.”
