Move On

I heard this morning that the Walter Noel’s of Greenwich, Park Avenue, East Hampton, Palm Beach and Mustique may be preparing to leave Round Hill Road. Last time I looked, the Round Hill property is encumbered by a $10 million lien and I assume his other homes are similarly burdened. If so, perhaps the hangman is approaching?

Time for Monica to embrace her hot Latina roots, shed the acquired, studied and polished Wasp patina, which has been failing her in her attempt to further her social career at The Bathing Corp and the B and T, and flee to Brazil.       Never for fraud, and the civil suits were started immediately, so they’ll continue til the end.

        Walt settled the main civil suit, brought by David Boies, for less than 10 cents on the dollar. He has no other significant legal liability. He might leave the country for tax reasons. Walt “earned” about $400 million for selling the Madoff Ponzi, and the money was paid to him in the Cayman Islands. He has probably paid very little, if any, taxes on this money, so he might leave rather than pay taxes on it.

          Didn’t the main Madoff trustee Irving Picard have a case against him?

          Yes, Trustee Picard is suing Walt, but it is a “known or should have known” claim about the Ponzi. A total non-starter because Walt, like the regulators at the SEC, knows nothing about investing or detecting a Ponzi.

    noels are no different than most of greenwich. rumors was an alblum, not the true story on noel, as usual cf is just getting fed more dumb gossip, not facts. i thought all lawyers deal in facts.

      The facts on Walter Noel are very well detailed, and he has been thoroughly exposed as a crook and an incompetent fool. Shame on you for defending him. Loyalty to friends is admirable but in Noel’s case, that loyalty would be best expressed by holding his hand in private and murmuring soothing tones into his hearing aid. Anything said or expressed in public is a disgrace.

    Dumb question perhaps, but if the shoe were about to fall on Walt, who would leak such info? If I were the Feds, or whomever is breathing down his throat, I’d sure as hell keep it quiet, then pounce his little ass in jail. But with a camera crew for Live, from Greenwich, it’s…..
