It’s not the heat, it’s the stupidity

Libertarian Advocate writes, speaking of Scott Frantz,

I’d thought he was a tough minded businessman. He fell for the Chinese Ploy: Demand the most egregious terms, pretend to cave and get more than you’d ever dreamed for.

Bye Scott.

Which is true, but more distressing is the demonstrated ineptness of our local Republicans to employ the very basic principle that when you’re outnumbered by your enemies, out think them.

Frantz and his few compatriots should not have attempted to water down the bill but instead should have cheered it on. By removing the most egregious elements of the law they helped the Democrats minimize the chances of the entire law being declared unconstitutional. But better than just standing aside, they should have encouraged, even introduced the grossest excesses advocated by the confiscators. Two possible results, had this strategy been adopted: either the law would have been stopped from enforcement by the federal courts and ultimately declared unconstitutional or, had smart Democrats seen what was happening and blocked the Republicans’ proposals it would have put the Democrats in the position of seeming to resist “common sense” laws to end violence. The general public  doesn’t know a constitutional issue from their right nostril and so wouldn’t understand or approve of the Democrats spurning the chance do “really do something”.  Result: Democrats lose, Republicans win the PR game.

Instead, Frantz fell for the Democrat’s gambit, accomplished nothing and looked like the fools that they are. Stupid, stupid , stupid.

    Dude –
Stupidity? STUPIDITY? YOU WANT STUPIDITY!! YOU CAN’T HANDLE STUPIDITY!! Actually, you handle it well. So here it is Bullet Boy.

This is priceless, and shows just how INSANE the Libtards are. Phoenix is spending a ton of money to recruit minority lifeguards EVEN IF THEY CAN’T SWIM!! In the name of diversity:

Whoever supports this should have a cinder block tied to them and tossed in a deep pool. Then let the minority non-swimming lifeguards “save” them.
This country needs a giant enema.
    Your Pal,

    Agreed Walt.

Also, I’m not sure they could have outfoxed anyone in this shitty state. They just shouldn’t have voted for it under any circumstance giving these dems the ability to re-write the bill in articles and say it was “bipartisan.” That’s what really makes my stomach turn.

  3. You want stomach turning???? Read this:

Wednesday, President Obama took his gun control push a step further: He admitted that only the Constitution stands between him and full gun confiscation. Rejecting concerns that new background checks might be a prelude to gun seizures, Obama suggested that worries about gun seizures were empty, and were only designed to feed “into fears about government. You hear some of these folks: ‘I need a gun to protect myself from the government. We can’t do background checks because the government’s going to come take my guns away.’ The government’s us. These officials are elected by you. … I am constrained as they are constrained by the system that our founders put in place.”

If this is about unnecessary deaths, and not a road to gun confiscation, the government should be talking about abortions, drunk drivers and drug-money laundering by TBTF banks.

Yup EOS – That makes my skin crawl, but at the same time, it’s expected from him.

Scott Frantz lost his way on this one.

If even Frantz is lost there is no more hope for liberty in CT; there is no hope for just Constitutional governance in CT.

From this affair, one could assume that Scott has higher political ambitions and believes that Larry Cafero plays a role in those ambitions. Cafero wants to be governor and had to strike a deal on this that would allow him to appeal to a wide swath of CT voters. Hence, Cafero cut a deal that makes him look bipartisan and “sensible” and he had to twist Frantz’s arm to get his vote to support that stance. The no-grandfathering threat was just theater for the sheeple.

Larry Cafero has absolutely zero chance of becoming Governor.

U.S. “Human Rights” Wars: Arms Control as a Weapon

A Black Agenda Radio Commentary by executive editor Glen Ford

“Each of those nations designated as rogue violators of human rights were also at the top of Washington’s hit list for regime change.”

The United Nations General Assembly vote on regulation of the international arms trade purports to be a modest step away from violence in the world, but is in fact the very opposite. The newly approved Arms Trade Treaty is conceived and designed as a facilitator of war by its main sponsor, the United States.

At the core of the treaty is a ban on arms exports to countries that are under U.N. embargoes, or that are accused of promoting genocide, crimes against humanity and war crimes. But such language is only a tool of war in the hands of the U.S. The cold fact is that, since the establishment of the United Nations to this very day, the United States and its allies, clients and proxies have been the worst perpetrators of crimes against humanity. From Vietnam to East Timor to Guatemala to Iraq to Somalia and to Congo, the U.S. has caused the deaths of well over ten million people over the past 60 years.

In the 21st century, in a cruel joke on humanity, the mass murderers in Washington put on their “human rights” hats and declared themselves to be the international community’s protectors against so-called “rogue” nations. The doctrine of “humanitarian military intervention” was inflicted on the world. It was not coincidental that each of those nations designated as rogue violators of human rights were also at the top of Washington’s hit list for regime change. Haiti was attacked and occupied, its sovereignty stolen under the auspices of the UN, for supposedly “humanitarian” reasons. Libya was bombed for seven months and plunged into a race war, under the “humanitarian” umbrella. The Democratic Republic of Congo has lost six million people at the hands of U.S. humanitarian policy. Let us one day be saved from the fatal embrace of the humanitarian superpower, who has made human rights a weapon of mass destruction.

“This treaty is not about limiting warfare, but about making nations into outlaws.”

The newly minted international Arms Trade Treaty, like humanitarian warfare and that racist mockery of an International Criminal Court, is simply another device….

I see it differently from LA: Frantz ain’t “stoopid.” Features, not bugs.
    Oh well…

Yos: It’s possible you’re right but either way, Frantz has toasted himself.

As I – and likely a great many others – see it, he, Florin, Cafero, McKinney and all the other Aye voting “Rs” effectively held us down so that the Dems could gang rape us. Admittedly that’s not a pretty visual image, but it’s how we perceive their treachery.
