As they were saying before they were so rudely interrupted, “it’s all about guns”

Did I say that?

Did I say that?

90-year-old New Jersey Senator Frank Lautenberg calls for ban on gunpowder sales.

“It is outrageous that anyone, even a known terrorist, can walk into a store in America and buy explosives without any questions asked,” Lautenberg said in a statement earlier today. “If we are serious about public safety, we must put these common-sense safeguards in place. While the police have not revealed what specific explosive materials were used in Boston, what we do know is that explosive powder is too easy to anonymously purchase across the country.”

There’s so much to work with here, but let’s start with the term, “common sense” – it’s used by every nut job left winger these days whenever their proposal of the day makes no sense. In the same way they use the label “racist”, democrats, by claiming something  “is only common sense”, seek to cut off all discussion and questions from rational people: “well anyone can see that, surely; are you dense?”  You’ll see the term employed automatically and invariably these days, from President Obummer on down to the lowest level of his cretinous minions like FWIW’s troll  Dollar Bill, who includes “common sense” in all his postings on gun control.

We could easily dissect  Lautenberg’s claims: fertilizer makes a far more explosive bomb than black powder used in a muzzle loader; a gallon of gasoline holds more explosive force that a ton of TNT – background checks at the Shell station, anyone?; a child can make his own gunpowder – my father made five pounds of the stuff when he was ten in 1915:  his father made him remove it from the house which is why, if you drive by 8 Heathcote Rd in Scarsdale today, 100 years later, you’ll see the Fountain home still standing ; and so forth. (And by the way, Frank, if the perp is “a known terrorist” why not arrest him before he enters that mythical sports store?) But there’s a larger point here, and it’s this: the Democrats  lost big on guns this week and are desperate to keep the issue alive while the rest of the country moves on. One of them said exactly that just yesterday, and I posted on it here. This is how they’re trying to get the focus back where they want.

Lautenberg grudgingly concedes that there’s no evidence that gunpowder was used to explode Monday’s bomb (or that the terrorists would have been stopped by a background check if it were – Massachusetts gun law should have prevented these guys from possessing a pistol or an AR-15 yet, somehow, it did not). So it is not about gunpowder, it’s about bringing the discussion back to guns. “You wanna talk about bombs, huh? Well what goes into a bomb, explosives, right? And isn’t gun powder an explosive? Of course it is, so commons sense tells you that this isn’t a bomb issue, it’s a gun control issue! Am I right? Huh, am I right?”

And so it goes.

    Progressive dipshits.

Obama said the Chechens: “failed because, as Americans, we refused to be terrorized.”

Meanwhile the Obama goon squad with their cast of tens of thousands and billions in equipment, shuts down a metropolitan area of 7 million people, traps people in their homes, kicks down doors violating Constiutuional rights, and they can’t find one guy. Someone had to go out to their boat to find one guy responsible for less violence than a typical Saturday night in Chicago. Imagine if this one guy had been able to hide out for a week.

The state run propaganda provides non-stop coverage of fedgov apparatchiks and talking heads in Boston, ignoring a far greater disaster in the fly-over country of West Texas. The propaganda machine is masterful at orchestrating distraction.

Now these jerks want to clamor about guns.

Boston was a nice practice run for the day when these Commies/Progressives receive the word from on high that it is time to make the final takeover move?

The sheeple of Metro Boston complied like sheep being led to the slaughter. All except Dunkin’ Donuts, hereafter known as “essential personnel”.

We pray for those who lost their lives and limbs as a result of this New, Muslim Terrorist Bombing, just deja vu all over again. 9/11 lives until they finish the job.

My hope is that whenever there is a terrorist bombing such as this, that Ayers and Dohrn, labeled by the FBI as “Domestic Terrorists”, are rousted out as “fitting the profile” and thereby periodically reminded of the SF Police blood on their hands. “Don’t get mad, get even.”

Don’t forget that the water in a bottle of Evian, if used to fuse the hydrogen atoms into helium, would wipe out the whole town.

It’s so convenient for those clowns in DC to keep screaming about terror and gun control. Then they don’t have to deal with questions about the almost 50 million people starving (they would without the food stamps!) or “disabled” in the country and the millions of unemployed.

We are fast moving (already there?) towards having 2 economies in the US. – one government-sponsored and the other private enterprise. Actually the more I think of it, if you include all the personal AND industry subsidies paid by us and include the defense contractors, private enterprise is probably a lot smaller.

Welcome to our new world. Government control is what we need to worry about – not gun control or immigration reform. Maybe its too late…?

i say too late. i watched obama speak last night after the second terrorist was caught and i realized at that moment, our country was sunk. obama wants this ass to have a fair trial, in the criminal courts, wants to afford him justice. he continued to say we should respect all religions…blah blah. this man was hell bent on killing. he’s a terrorist. we need a full out walt attack on this guy and not the bend-over kindness obama wants us to feel he deserves. he deserves jack squat.

    Dude –
The Libtard ideology is almost as perverse as the slums. The slums believe that if people don’t embrace their God, THEY NEED TO DIE!! If you offend their religion, YOU HAVE TO DIE!! It makes total sense to kill people in the name of Allah, right?

And the Libtards. They think it is TOTALLY OK to strip away from law abiding citizens their ability to protect themselves, but are HORRIFIED when this blintz eating child killer isn’t read his Miranda rights.

Isn’t it ironic? Don’t ya think? And now this scum will be treated at a hospital, Beth Israel!! where many of his innocent victims are trying to come to terms that they have lost some limbs, and their lives changed forever.

Isn’t that ironic? It’s like rain on your wedding day. It’s like a free ride, when you already paid. It’s a no smoking sign on your cigarette break. It’s having a raging woody, and you are at the YMCA.

Anyhows, how stupid was this towel head? He tried to make his getaway by boat. On a trailer. In a driveway. Can you say retahd? Why not use a Mary Poppins umbrellah? Or steal a cah? Or hide in a cellah?

I am working on the interrogation questions. You call the Mayah and ask where we can interview this POS.

Don’t forget to bring the pig. The pig sandwich. Not your date.
    Your Pal,

After putting an extra layer of tin foil on my head yesterday — the good stuff, not that cheap generic crap — I posted that they would use the Boston Marathon bombing to take the ammunition away, if that’s not conspiracy theory lunacy, I don’t know what is. This guy they got, Tzhokhar Tsarnaev had been previously questioned by the FBI for terrorist links, and became a US citizen on 9-11. If Walt had submitted this as one of his prospective movie scripts, he would have been laughed out of Hollywood for writing stuff that’s just not believable. And to quote William Goldman, “Truth is terrific, reality is even better, but believability is best of all. Because without it, truth and reality go right out the window.” Lindsey Graham wants to NDAA disappear and torture the guy. What’s next will chemistry sets be illegal? Will we not be allowed to have charcoal?

Lautenlizard…what a moroon. He should crawl back into his Depends and slither under a rock.

The nice thing is that journalists and politicians know even LESS about explosives than guns.

Ever heard the term “high explosive”? That’s a kinda technical term to separate them from low explosives. High explosives have high “brisance” (shattering power/fast shock waves/fast burn) , low explosives (aka “lifting” explosives) relatively slow detonation speeds.

Black power, and the stuff used to propel bullets & shells are low explosives, they have “shove” power without turning the gun or cannon into a fragmentation device.

High explosives are what the military uses in shells and grenades, stuff that can shatter steel, concrete, etc…

Miners often use both kinds depending on whether they are cracking rock or moving it.

Controlled demolition companies use high explosives mostly as “fast cutting devices”

See, now you know more than 99.99% of elected officials. Isn’t that scary?

By the by, our Bostonian murderers used low explosives. (Because other wise there would have been a lot more broken glass) both kinds are dangerous.

Captain Kirk makes gunpowder from stuff he finds laying around on the ground — looks like we’re going to have to outlaw being outside.

According to the articles I’ve seen today, the suspected bombers used ‘hobby fuse’ (pyrotechnic fuse), not gunpowder.
