Why don’t these brave souls try this in front of a mosque?

Carnegie Mellon student protests Catholic religion by dressing as the pope and parading bottomless with her pubic hair shaved into a cross.

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Students at Carnegie Mellon say it’s freedom of expression, but the Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh calls it inappropriate and disrespectful.

At an annual art school parade, a female student dressed up as the pope, and was naked from the waist down while she passed out condoms.

Even more, witnesses say the woman had shaved her pubic hair in the shape of a cross.

“I think we all know that when we’re growing up we do stupid things but to cross over the line in this instance shouldn’t happen with anybody,” Bishop David Zubik said.

CMU issued a statement, saying “We are continuing our review of the incident. If our community standards or laws were violated, we will take appropriate action.”

The only way this idiot girl would be deemed to have offended CMU’s “community standards” [sic] would have been if she’d dressed as Mohammad and gnawed on a pork chop, but young, courageous activists don’t do that. Not in this country, certainly. Bishop Zubik is the only one involved here who displays any dignity.

We should just wait for Walt on this one…

Is the bishop’s name really Zubik? The dirty limerick practically writes itself!

Now we know not to take anyone or anything that comes off that campus seriously. Where are the drones when we need them?

there but for the grace of civilized society goes someone else’s daughter.

  6. at the risk of pissing off the Mickster, the challenge of a limerick is too much. here’s my attempt:

a young lass of Carnegie Mellon
donned a costume really quite tellin’
    a mitre she adorned
    above nether regions shorn
damn! she be causin’ a powerful swellin’

      A co-ed at CMU was half-nude
and attempted an insult so rude
shaved a cross in her pubes
      but covered her boobs
“community standards”? She should be sued!

How safe and unoriginal to taunt the dog that won’t bite back.

It’s astonishing what passes for moral courage these days. You can tell a lot about someone’s ignorance by their definition of evil.

For $50k a year…. Might as well just flush CMU tuition down the loo.

    Dude –
I believe there should be no “sacred cows”, although I do believe this protest was in poor taste.
The bigger danger is when free speech is stifled, and it is OK to mock and challenge some things, but not all things. It is totally inappropriate to question the Messiah in Chief. If you do, you are clearly a racist. But it is 100% OK to call law abiding, gun owning citizens “zealots” or “child killers” or anything else. You own a gun, don’t you? You vile putrid little cretin.
It is OK to ridicule Catholics and Wasp’s, because they are mostly white. But don’t say one bad thing about the child killing, pig hating Slums. Some Cleric will declare a Fatwa on your lilly white ass, because it is totally OK to kill those who disagree with you.
Anyhows, now back to the story. Let’s start with the cross shaved on her love muffin, shall we? Is that a sardonic metaphor, or merely a Brazilian gone awry? This will require some further investigation. Any chance you have the Coed’s name? And is she a chubby? If so, you may have to partake in the investigation.
Get me her contact data, and I will look at this more closely and report back.
    Your Pal,

Y’know, no one asked that question: “is this gal anything to look at?”
We just assumed she was ( at least I did…).
If my frau tried this stunt you wouldn’t be able to see the cross, folks would be wondering why the Michelin Man was handing out condoms, and what’s with the hat?
