Here’s how to bid – basically, you must place your bid before hand and the three highest bidders will be invited to duke it out on the 25th.
We’ve written about Kupersmith before, most recently just this past July. In response to that article I received this interesting email. Apparently there was – is- more to Mr. Kupersmith than just a rapacious, failed real estate developer.
Hi Chris:
I was one of Corey’s partners for about five years when I founded Cheytac * and my other partners voted him in as an additional partner. He and his criminal gang of hangers on from NYC were interesting fellows. From never paying their taxes to outright defrauding [or attempting to] their partners, they were the gang that couldn’t shoot straight, literally. When the little prince got involved with Cheytac he determined that we didn’t need process control on weapons manufacturing….. We could discuss that for hours…. We have enough damaged clients out there from that.He also tried out various fully automatic weapons in Arco, ID and once shot a School Bus, fortunately coming back empty, no kids……. I guess there is a God some where.Crocco died under suspicious circumstances [no mention of that in Keith Crocco’s obituary – it was a motorcycle accident- Keith C rear-ended an SUV – Ed] after Corey stated that he was going to send him to his grave as he didn’t trust him any more….. Most of the Greenwich cops partied at his Cowdray mansion or the Jupiter FL mansion…..Real Estate? Chris, you have barely scratched the tip of the iceberg…..
Interesting about the GPD partying with the man, here in Greenwich and in Florida. Any readers want to contribute to that angle?
UPDATE: Googling around, I found this mention of Kupersmith’s involvement with Jamison International. “In 2003 Marc Jamison teamed with the owner of Greenwich Ballistics, Corey Kupersmith, who had recently acquired Cheyenne Tactical (CheyTac USA).”
Patent suit brought by Greenwich Ballistics against Jamison bankrupted Jamison (or it shut down as the result of the expenses of defending against the suit). Here’s the original complaint.
no truth at all to the cops partying statement
You keep insisting on spoiling good stories, damn it! Keep it up and I’ll take away your posting privileges.
I agree….my apologies…why ruin a good story with some facts. 🙂
I told ya’ he was a bad dude.
A Greenwich, Conn., home is going to auction in August with a starting bid of $4.6 million.
The 11,000-square-foot Colonial-style home has six bedrooms, seven full bathrooms and two half-baths. It includes a finished basement with a wine cellar, a rec room with a wet bar, four fireplaces, oak floors and a wood-paneled library. The 13-acre property has a swimming pool with a spa and cabana, a 20-stall barn with a four-apartment guesthouse, an outdoor riding arena, a tennis court and a three-car garage.
The home is in Conyers Farm, a gated community with minimum lot sizes of 10 acres and where other homeowners have included Justin Timberlake, Ivan Lendl and Ron Howard. The community has riding paths, 24-hour security, a polo field and a 100-acre lake.
The home’s current owner is People’s United Bank, which foreclosed on the property in December 2012. Developer Corey Kupersmith had purchased the home in 1999 for $8.9 million, according to Misha Haghani, principal of Paramount Realty U.S.A., which is running the auction. In October 2010 Mr. Kupersmith listed the property for $16.25 million and he removed the listing one year later.
The auction will take place Aug. 25.
It’s Cowdray (not cowdrey) Park Drive
The estate is probably on the New York side judging by its lack of ability to sell. (Taxes on NY side typically swing north of 250k for 10+ acres up there)
Ivan Lendl left Conyers years ago, Ron still lives across the lake on the NY side, and the rumor about JT being there was just that, a rumor.
It’s too bad Peter Brant wasn’t a golfer, this would be a much nicer plot of land for Greenwich’s Nuevo Rich to tee it up…
Besides, Stanwich needs some competition…
Their new greens don’t last beyond the 3rd week of June, yet the members shit still doesn’t stink.
Quite right on the spelling of Cowdray, BM – I knew that last time I wrote about it; funny how the brain will switch things to a more familiar spelling).
Also correct about JT not ever living there – just a rumor. Ron Howard lives in Greenwich on the lake, and Luther Vandross also lived in the South Gate (Greenwich), among other celebrities, such as Rosie O’Donnell, Vince and LInda McMahan and numerous pro baseball and basketball figures.
Btw, if you look at old aerial photos of the area, you will see a large farm and a golf course in the locations of Peter Brant’s White Birch Farm (his 300+ acre estate across from Conyers Farm) and the Stanwich Club – however they are “reversed”!
White Birch was a golf course when Brant bought it, which he turned in to a large horse farm, etc., and the Stanwich Club was “Semloh Farm” (still noted on the old gate to the club), which was the former Holmes (Semloh backwards) “great estate”.
Hekma
Conyers Farm was always a farm.
http://www.greenwichlibrary.org/blog/historically_speaking/2011/03/conyers-farm.html
Well not always – it was once an inland sea, then a glacier, then woodlands.
But White Birch Farm (across street where Brant lives) was not.
I’ve heard about that golf course, and that Brants home was the site of the clubhouse.
Now it’s all horse poop, hay, silicon, and warhols.
Don’t forget “Santa with Butt Plug”
Right!
We could hit a little lower and say:
“Broken screen doors, kilo’s of blow, pillow biting offspring, rusty printing presses, and paperwork for bankruptcy filings!!
But that’s just mean.
🙂
Who’s JT?
Justin Timberlake
Too bad JT didn’t pony up for the big green monster on upper cross….would have been fun to bump into Jessica Biel every now and again..
BigMike: aside from the Brant sisters – I mean, siblings – there aren’t enough like-minded boys in the neighborhood for JT to play with. Also, it’s tough to “keep it on the DL” in a town this size.
