Pentagon lacks funds to pay for Syria strike, Obama will have to ask for Congressional funding.

A congressional aide familiar with the congressional leaders’ briefing said Hagel and Winnefeld made clear the Pentagon would need to “work” with Congress to obtain supplemental funding for Syria attacks.

“Good luck with that,” the aide said.

The ships are already armed, and they’re already there. So he doesn’t need any funding to fire off a few cruise missiles, call it day, and then come home. What’s odd about this whole thing is that our Nobel peace prize winning president wants to kill a few thousand people at random in a country that has nothing to do with us to send them a message that they shouldn’t kill a few hundred of their own people if, in fact, they never really did: the last time around it proved to be the US backed Al Qaeda rebels who used the gas. Could this be the definition of insanity?
