When reality strikes

That's not funny, you sexist pig - I'll sue!

That’s not funny, you sexist pig – I’ll sue!

BA in “Social Justice and Peace Studies” (with honors!), MA in gender studies graduate, and her degrees “mean nothing!. You could look for this poor girl at the next Occupy Wall Street demonstration, were that fine organization still around, *demanding that someone else pay off her student loans and give her a job befitting her skills. Fortunately for her, she has a government which will doubtless do exactly that.

A long time ago, in a university far, far away, I chose to major in philosophy despite the certain knowledge that the market for 23-year-old philosophers would be … ah, … “limited” – I proceeded anyway, just to satisfy my intellectual curiosity and because I enjoyed it. Sure enough, the only job I found (and thank you, Greenwich’s Nick Ohnell) was selling telephone cable and state-of-the-art then, primitive today, computerized PBX telephone systems. I was philosophical about it.

Of course, unlike Andria, my major required instruction in logic, and therein lies the difference in our expectations.

* Readers may remember Dollar Bill’s promise, a few years back, that the collection of the unwashed bums and spoiled children would “be back in the spring, stronger than ever” – spring came and went, so did the next year’s, and we’re still waiting. “They’re just gathering strength,”, Dollar Bill says, “just you wait. Just you waaaaait!”

hey let me major in bullshit and hope corporate America wont notice…

I don’t think so! corporate America is out to turn a profit (as it should be) and the only one making out is the university that signed her up…

when are college bound kids going to realize that majoring in bullshit results in no job?

  2. She sounds perfect for a public school teaching position! 🙂

Why would any sane employer hire a creature with a degree in social justice, peace or gender studies? Not only are these people uneducated they are troublemakers waiting to pounce, sort of the legal version of dry rot.

    • Well, why would any employer – in this case, Greenwich taxpayers, hire someone like Samarpana Ramadamadingdong Tamm, a woman dedicated to increasing taxes on Greenwich residents and a cult follower, to oversee our school curriculum and 80% of our total budget? She, too, is uneducated, a troublemaker and an extreme example of dry rot.

I don’t understand the BOE elections. If the seats have to be held equally by members from both parties, I believe that’s what you’ve indicated in the past, correct me if I’m wrong, then these are essentially appointments, and the election amounts to nothing more than going through the motions. What happens if one side gets all the votes? And what happens if an independent chooses to run? In your photo she seems to be standing there all by herself; just what is it she thinks she’s occupying? Doesn’t she mean I am the 99%: I don’t see any we there; much like your Che t-shirt wearing, occupy friend at Darien’s Tilley Pond Park — he just had to get into the act.

If an independent runs, he or she just needs more votes than one of the Democrats (who always get far fewer votes than either Republican) to win.

Unfortunately, Peter Sherr decided to run as a Republican instead of as an independent. So, to win, he has to come in at second overall in the total number of votes. Had he run as an independent, he would only have to have come in 4th.

Now both other Democrats would have to beat Tamm Tamm to keep her off the school board.

I cannot take the school board seriously with her on it.

Wow, that’s more twisted than a pretzel. The only response to something like that that I could think of was something like this:

    Dude –
You wondered “Well, why would any employer – in this case, Greenwich taxpayers, hire someone like Samarpana Ramadamadingdong Tamm…”.

Because the progressives have destroyed the moral fiber of this Country? Because individual accountability for actions no longer matter, and trying to hold someone accountable is politically incorrect? Because we are all the same, no matter what Mother Nature says, and pointing out differences is racist? Because character and integrity count for zero? Because pointing out someones shortcomings is not politically correct? Because the kingmakers, Francis and Lee Mazzilli deem her “cultist” background to be no big deal, in spite of what the people say, and against all common sense?

    Your Pal,

Two interesting former philosophy majors: Bill Gates and Steve Martin

    • Two winners out of three’s not bad.

Please don’t insult a Philosophy Major who study the works of Aristotle, Plato, Socrates, etc (the bedrock of Western Philosophy) or Confucious and others—with this dip-shit person’s majors. A Philosophy major is grounded in physics, biology, zoology, government, music, etc….the other is grounded in…well, nothing. Big Difference RealTorme.

    • CatoRenasci

      Gates dropped out.

  6. You aren’t really comparing peace and gender studies to philosophy, are you? Whole different ball game. Maybe it’s how you sell it. I know someone who chose philosophy because she felt she would learn specifics on the job, but philosophy would teach her how to think. Worked for her. Great major for someone planning to go to law school!

those kinds of degrees/curriculum are completely & utterly worthless, a net drag on the economy and brainpower.
